Today's Program

Keith led the meeting today but not the planned Budget meeting - which may have been a good thing judging by the amount of Rotarians in attendance

Those Rotarians in attendance sat around a u-shaped table which created a little more engagement and fellowship.
Keith talked about the impact our club has made in our community over the years and why he had made the decision to join Rotary - he also went around the room and asked those members that had been a member for along while to comment. Some of the senior members that provided their experiences were Larry B, Paul T., Jim J., Matt Morris,  yours truly - and we then continued with Paul M, Jim Mcpherson,  Dr. Tom, Tom Everrett - Clayton who is re-joining the club.  Everyone joined for different reason's and it was great to understand everyone's experience and highlights and it all came down a few things- leading to our moto of Service above Self. We all come together to work hard for our community and those that have challenges helping themselves.  It was a great nostalgic meeting where so many  things that we had forgotten that was did as a club - Whitney Walk, Rotary Children's Christmas Party- just to name a few.
Keith recommeded a book called Sea Stories, by William H. McRaven a Navy Seal.  Basically we all come together for a common purpose and that is to work together as a great team in giving back to a community that supports ourselves and our family.
Great book to read about commitment, determination and overcoming obstacles.
It was a wonderful meeting full of fellowship and pride to be a member of our club.
Jokes were fair...something about a toddler resisting ar"rest"
Wishing everyone a great long weekend !
Cheers and make someone smile.
