AI Generated summary:

Erik Reed has lived in Cambridge’s Clemens Mills neighborhood for the past 10 years with his wife Katie, a piano teacher, and their two daughters, Monika and Krista. Originally from St. Catharines, Erik studied Sport Management at Brock University and Human Resources at Conestoga College. His career has included recruitment roles, notably with Target Canada and a Toronto tech firm, but he recently pivoted to entrepreneurship. Together with Katie, he launched a home-staging and renovations business to help people prepare houses for sale.

Family is central to Erik’s life. He lost his father young, was raised by his mother and grandfather, and now embraces being a “girl dad.” The family also includes a golden doodle, Kihei. Erik values his heritage, with maternal grandparents who came to Canada as refugees from Germany and Prussia, and paternal roots tracing back to United Empire Loyalists.

Active in church and community, Erik teaches Sunday school, helps with audiovisual work, donates blood (47 times so far), and volunteers in neighborhood cleanups and at St. John’s Kitchen. He sees Rotary membership as a way to deepen local connections.

Sports and travel are lifelong passions. Erik played football through high school and remains an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Scouting, sports, and travel shaped his youth, taking him from jamborees in Thailand to exchange studies in Australia, plus extensive travels through Europe, Vietnam, China, and Hawaii. He enjoys history, especially military history, and seeks out museums and cultural experiences wherever he goes.

Looking ahead, Erik is focused on family, growing his business, and staying active in civic life. He has considered running for city council in the future, seeing public service as another way to give back.

Rena thanked the speaker and Paul M did the official thanks.
