Opening and Sgt @ Arms Report
Our Infamous President opened the meeting. We sang Happy Birthday to Leslie, our favourite server.
Keith acknowledged that we share First Nation's Land and their ancient Knowledge .( Also their present common sense about advising their people not to go south of the border...my comment)
Jim of Puslinch Lake did the 4 way test and Kristen did an invocation about compassion and community.
We toasted an Independent Canada.
Arlette was SAA. We have 21 members plus Randy on Zoom. 3 guests: Gorrette Lord, guest of Arlette and her sister. Carrie Guse our speaker and Dianne Boviano guest of Mike H.
50/50 Draw
Rob was Johnny Junior. Wayne and Larry were both losers. Some hundreds of bucks in the pot.
Announcements and Good News
Announcements:
Mike H.  Euchre tonight...now last night. Next night maybe May 7th.
Anne Marie said there is a board meeting next Tuesday.
Todd said the Duckie Rodeo is now on June 14th. Only a 10% chance of a flood on that date. Also some big garbage container company will be dumping the ducks in the river.
Miljia implored us to all join a fundraising committee.
Presdent Keith said there would be a Human Trafficking presentation at Tapestry on June 17th. Then the President's Ball the next day.

Good News: Jim McPherson said that the Puslinch Home Boat Tour will take place on June 13th. It will be somewhat sedate....not like the Jolly Roger party boat on a cheap Carribean Holiday.
Editor Tom said that he and family had an enjoyable month and Christmas in Adelaide. It was hot, I could get used to it.  Now we are back home helping Ian recover from surgery.
Jim McPherson was thanked for good food and company. I missed details but think there was a do at his place as alternate location for a cancelled meeting.
Keith thanked Lena for helping his wife and mother plan a European Vacation/ River cruise. It was not an easy task.

Jokes
Paul M. : 103 yr old Scottish lady took a pinch of gunpowder with her scotch every night. Her secret for longetivity. Then she died an blew a 50 foot hole in the crematorium.
Today's Speaker
Paul McMenemy introduced our speaker from Food4Kids, Carrie Guse ( pronounced Gooseh). She is their Community engagement Coodinator.
She is very active in the community having been a worship Pastor, taught Kindermusic and also has her Home Staging Certificate.
She is the morning host on Faith FM. She enjoys her family and bulldog.
Food4kids provides food for kids 1-14 yrs of age on 170days of the year when there is no school.
They are 5 staff and volunteers. 86% of donations go into the programme. This is very good.  They get no government help.
They serve 1400 kids/week in 129 out of 161 schools in the region. ( 5000 kids are food insecure in our region....they have a waiting list)
It costs $1400 per child /yr.
If you would like to help go to their website.
Carrie was thanked by Wayne.

Addendum: Keith said we support 2 young adults age 18-25 to go to Ryla ( inspiring youth leadership academy for Rotary) Let Keith know if you have a candidate.
Clayton will be doing his revised ' who am I ' next week.
Keep your woolies handy.
