Good news
President elect Rena attended the sunset club charter night to celebrate the launch of the new Cambridge Rotary sunset club meeting every other Tuesdays at 7pm
Today's Program
Keith introduced our speaker Robyn Schwarz who was a former Rotary exchange student. She spent a term in France and surprising to me didn’t take up smoking. Robyn is a graduate of Western University and holds the title of Fund Development, Advocacy, & Communications Lead at Porchlight where she spends a lot of her time grant writing and building the non for profit organization grow services for mental health and addiction. Porchlight is formerly Family Counselling Centre of Cambridge and North Dumfries. What started as a grassroots effort to support the arrival of war brides in 1940 became a local counselling centre by the 1960s, always adapting to support the changing needs of our community.

Porchlight offers children’s  therapy starting as young as 6 years old. Group therapy classes named "slay the Dragon" where they go to schools and help teach children the skills to communicate their feelings among other skills needed to learn in the classroom.

Therapy can cost $160-$250 per hour but Porchlight offers some free but also reduced price options between $100-$130 per hour

Rena thanked the speaker and some of us stayed later to learn more about Poarchlight
