Johnny on the spot was in fine form today.(Our guests were getting concerned but I assured them this was a part of our regular meeting and they would come to no harm...maybe.)

After all that Brian W. and Sukhi G. were losers.  Over $1000 in the pot and only six cards left.

Club Opportunities
We are currently looking for another bulletin editor and welcome aspiring writers looking to do light-hearted character assassinations (optional, but encouraged). Contact President Rena if you want to join the Bulletin Fold.

Good news
Previously mentioned, Nancy Yule said she had a great time at the Barbeque and it made her want to join the club. Neil was instrumental in her good time.

Rena was at Grand Bend recently. They had a wonderful time, made more wonderful by her son proposing to his girlfriend. Wow! Let the planning begin.

Today's Program
Paul McMenemy introduced our speaker, Ralph Meiszinger, a board member of Ontario Christian Gleaners. Their facility is on Morrison Rd, south of Cambridge. Ralph lives in Paris with his wife and 3 sons. He is past pastor of Paris Baptist Church.
One of his son's has Down's syndrome and works at their facility, helping process the food.
This year is their 15th Anniversary.  Their modus operandi is to take surplus vegetables from local growers , dry it and make it into a nutritious soup mix . This is then shipped to hungry people in various parts of the world.  Their end product is a bag of dried vegetables that can provide 100 meals.  They do not do the shipping. This is done by missions etc that have a presence in needy areas.  They do purchase $17,000 worth of split peas to add a protein source to the dry mix.
They do not supply local food banks  but share the produce if there is extra.
They do not supply needy areas in Canada such as First Nations communities.
Ralph was thanked by Paul.

Rena reminded us that it is club assembly next week. So do not bring a guest, but come yourself as a quorum is needed.  Tom the treasurer will present the budget. He will be shopping for a new pair of shoes.
