Roger Mann introduced Sukhi by explaining why he thinks that Sukhi is a great addition to Rotary. Family is important to Sukhi and has helped teach him, his core values of love, respect and relationships. He talked about how his parents have inspired him and provided 2 quotes that his parents say, live, and taught him. His father taught him 'Sarbat da bhala' which is a Sikh concept which means 'Blessings to everyone' or literally in Punjabi 'May everyone prosper'. His father taught him this concept of well being of all humanity, prosperity for everyone in the worldwide community and peace to the entire planet by his actions towards other people regardless of position in life and being a politician to help people and community. His Mother taught him 'Thodi Daein Par Sukh di Daein' which means God don't give us more as we don't expect more but give us the strength to be satisfied with what we have. The pillars of his life are his father, uncles, and brothers. In childhood they had a pet deer on the farm that never liked children just his father and uncle. Sukhi loves fishing and hunting and would often be out all day as the leader of other children in this pursuit. He went to boarding school when he was younger and his long hair was hard to deal with as a younger child away from home so his father had his hair cut short but did not tell his mother. His mother did not know until she saw him next and had him grow his hair again. Sukhi then talked about his wife and she is not intimidated by Sukhi at all (had to see the pictures). We all saw wonderful wedding, family, and friends pictures. Professionally he started Akus Technologies in India which was founded by three ex Microsoft engineers in 2008. 2009 expanded to the US, 2015-2018 Canada. His business provides technology services such as cloud solutions, network security, disaster recovery, web development, storage. They are a Microsoft Gold certified partner, Silver competency Partner, and small business specialist. Sukhi will consider himself a good person if he is able to learn 50% of what his parents have taught him. Chad closed the meeting.
