Good news
DG Sohail Nasser spoke a few words about the concept of club excellence. He said there were 75 new members in our district this year. This is good. He introduced Rob Galloway from Fergus-Elora Rotary who will be our next District Governor.
Heidi is heading off early this year for some motorcycling in Austria.
Rob Galloway talked about Tom Everett's skills in Curling on the last Scotland tour.  He was also very good at the "Scotch" Bar. Rob is also part of our district info team for the Calgary Convention in June. Get on Rob's email list to stay informed. < rgalloway83@yahoo.ca>
Keith Peers said May is Grandson Birthday Month is his family. They will go go-carting.
Todd said that Abigail is home. They are going off to a rock concert in Maryland. Def Leppard etc. That would be fantastic. Todd will get a ponytail.

Today's Program
Our speakers are Jesse Boule who is Porch Light Counselling's Veterans Housing Support Worker and Housing Liason.
Sabrina Piombini is Cambridge Shelter's Veterans Program Coordinator.
They spoke about ending Veteran's homelessness.
Helping homeless vets is a multi-agency effort.
They work with vets and potential landlords.
They give some financial support to subsidize lease agreements and also have a damage fund.
Replacing a homeless person's ID can be a big first step.
They have contact with 30-40 vets and have managed to set up housing for 5 vets. That does not sound like a lot and there are more out there.
They have a new programme in Cambridge. It is a triplex for clients who are unable to get a standard lease.
Paul McMenemy said there is a lot of potential help from Dept of Veteran's Affairs. But the website is intensely complicated and a coach is needed for clients.
They were thanked by Wayne P.  and Paul McM.
After the talk DG Sohail Nasser presented our club with a Polio Plus certificate. Individual members and our club make contributions.
Todd told a clean joke . He gave Abby a calendar. She did not want it because its days were numbered.
But no visit by the DG can occur at our club without a slightly off-colour joke. Keith Peers: How do we know that diarrhea is Hereditary? Because it runs in the family. Hah!
Have a great Two Four weekend.
