Opening and Sgt @ Arms Report
President Paul McMenemy opened the meeting and acknowledged that we reside on the lands of Native Peoples and that we respect their ancient knowledge.
Editor Tom did the 4 way test and Jim McPherson did the Innvocation.
Paul toasted the True North and Rotarians around the world.
Jim Johnson was SAA. 16 Rotarians were present and two on Zoom....Randy and I think Lina. Note was made that Jim Mcpherson made a dashing figure in his Dunnville/ Keswick Dinner Jacket.
We had 3 guests: Erik Reed, Russ Hooper and Past President Rajbir Mann.
No Birthdays etc.

50/50 Draw
Johnny Smooth must still be wasting away in Aruba .  So Rob Cox ran the show. Paul Cody drew the Queen of Spades, Tracy drew a Joker.
Announcements
Tracy with her very cool retro microphone spoke of thank you cards and notes from Adults in Motion. We helped out one of their members in time of need. Tracy has offered up her vegetable garden to Adults in Motion. If the harvest is bountiful there will be a picnic later on.
She also reminded us of Boots and Bands on March 29th starting at 6:30 pm. ( we think)
Ann-Marie reminded us of Tacos e Tequila on May 2nd. $75 /ticket for a good cause...helping kids and poor people in Mexico.

And a President elect for our 100th Anniversary Year.
Good news
Paul Cody said that Sherry Roberts, a wheelchair curler, is going to the Nationals in Quebec. She could use some financial support for trip costs.
Brian Waddell is happy to be helping a former Conestoga Co-op student start an AI company.
Toddler is back from the Dominican Republic where he and Mike Thomas do a week of wind surfing. It was not very windy so they tried other dangerous ventures such as Wind Foiling.

We have some Charity Cheques to give out.  This will be done at a subsequent meeting.

Today's Program
Next President Keith Peers took to the podium to introduce his new board. His year does not have a theme but the message from the next International Rotary President is " Unite for Good".   ( the meaning of 'good' is to ' do good').
Here is the Motley Cru.
President Elect : TBD
Past Pres: Paul M.
Secretary: Ann-Marie A.
Treasurer and Curler extra-ordinaire: Tom Everett.
Foundation Chair: Todd Lyons.
Membership:  Paul T. Cody
Community Service: Tracy D.
Vocational: Lina V.
International: Rob Cox.
Fund Raising Chair: Randy Cole.
Tech Guru: Mr Starlink himself, Brian Waddell.

Keith spoke of some of his ideas.  Maybe develop a 3 year plan to help with continuity. He would like to grow the membership and do projects that are supported by District Grants. ( money that comes back from Rotary Foundation if we raise the other half of the funding for a particular project.)
Keith is visiting other regional clubs to see their particular Modus Operandi. Hey, some clubs don't even do a Bulletin!!
Then somehow, Todd took the floor and spoke of the Anniversary Committee's ideas to the present. Maybe a big bash at the Gaslight District maybe a bit over the top.  So another idea is a tree planting project in cooperation with Rare. That way people could remember us when the trees are big and old.
Jim Johnson said Rotary Clubs in other countries behave differently. Political talk is Verboten! Some do not fund raise but just get out the cheque book.
As a long range idea, Keith's vision is that of a Rotary House that would help traumatized children, or Veterans in need. Where would we start?
Todd took to the floor again. What do you call a Dinosaur with a large Vocabulary??? A Thesaurus.

Welcome to Spring. Have a good week. See you at Boots and Bands.
