Opening and Sgt @ Arms Report
Pres Paul McM opened the meeting at 12:30

Tracy D presented the 4-Way Test, and Lina V read a fine invocation, and Pres Paul read a Land Acknowledgement

Nancy Y gave us the S@A report, and if I'd remembered by that time that I was bulletin editor, I totally would have made a note of how many members were in attendance....   however I did notice that a couple late arrivals (don't worry Steve and Ann-Marie, you're secret is safe with me!) had to add two chairs, so we must have had 26 members present!!!

Announcements
Mike advised we have 48 signed up for the Euchre Tournament on Wednesday - see you there!

A reminder that on Saturday March 29, there is Boots & Bands - a fund raiser supporting the new Women's Shelter in Cambridge - currently we're looking for sponsors and silent auction items - please see Tracey D
50/50 Draw
Paul TC, after purchasing 3 lots of tickets....   was the first success-challenged member...

and I think Milja was the second card destroyer...

The odds will always be better next week ;)
Good news
Past Pres Rena H - will be going to Costa Rica for a couple months - a once-in-a-life-time adventure!

Dr. Tom is happy to be back on home soil after being away over the holidays  (holidays?  isn't every day a holiday Dr. Tom?)
Today's Program
Introduced by Todd L, newer member Stephen Witteveen presented his 'Who am I'

- Stephen's parents, were married in 1964, his dad a Principal, and his mom in graphic design
- he has two sisters, and grew up in Brampton, spending many hours with friends at Shoppers World, smoking and playing video games (the REAL kind of video games, that cost a quarter!)
- Stephen attended Redeemer University in Ancaster in 1990, where he met his wife Corine
- he then attended Law School in Toronto, being called to the Bar in 2001
- Corine did marketing for RIM in it's heyday, then went back to school for midwifery, and enjoys practicing that today
- in 2000, Stephen join Don Pavey and Brian Law to form Pavey Law
- Stephen and Pavey Law have always been HUGE community supporters - Stephen's firm has provided our club with many members over the years, including a President or two
- he has served on the Chamber board, including being chair, and also on the boards of the CMHF, the Humane Society, and the Food Bank
- he was also a 24 year member of the Rotary Club of Cambridge North, including being President for a year, and Secretary for the last 7
- Stephen and Corine have 3 children - two girls and the boy
- Max, the boy, is just finishing up a business/accounting degree, and will be starting full time at BDO
- Eden, the middle one, is part way through studying to be a paramedic, and you may recognize her as one of the beer-cart people at the GCC
- Avery, the youngest, is in her last year at Glenview
- Stephen and Corine have 'enjoyed' bringing their 1880 house up to today's comforts; with it's in-law suite, they've enjoyed great advantages having Corine's family so close
- Stephen wrapped up by claiming he's excellent at golf...

There were lots of questions - including what type of law he enjoys the most, which is preparing wills and estates, as it gives him the opportunity to get to know people, and their stories, far better than when he concentrated more on corporate law

Thank you Stephen, and thank you for joining our club!!
