It was a full house with a lot of great "buzz" in the room  as we toasted the King and Rotarians around the world.

The half member was Adam Gracie who then added the remaining .5 after he was inducted into the Halls of Rotary with all the usual pomp and circumstance - every welcomed - and although we allowed Keith to join the club no worries Adam- the bar is set higher!

Good news
HOPEFULLY everyone had a fantastic EASTER Long Weekend - why did the Easter Bunny not want to play poker in the Jungle?
Too many Cheetahs......

Paul M in looking forward to Easter weekend and filling up his grandkids with chocolate and then sending them home after the festivities.
Jeff announced that Jerry is better or so we thought but found out why the infections may still be present - stitches - not one but maybe two were found.
Hope this is now the final phase and Jerry will be on road to recovery!
Matt had a great trip to South Carolina and his golf game or at least one was stellar - best yet in sunny south.
Yours truly had good and bad news - good news is there will be no more black eyes and a great journey but bad news- after all the training - there will be no completion in the ring.
Blood thinners are a no go for boxing. Will be cheering Jim Juggernaut McPherson on in the ring on April 12th!

Today's Program
Jeff Hunter introduced Nancy - they have known each other for a while and live in the same building.
Nancy's talk was so interesting with so much content  I hope I have hightlighted some of the key areas as there was many.  Very much is an artist routed deep in her soul she sees and feels connection with many people as she dances through life on her own self discovery.
Life is all about perspectives as she showed a piece of art and delineated the black and white or the positive and the negative and what we saw in that pic.
How Nancy creates her art, is through many different forms of medium - she goes by the connection and feel she has with the person buying the art - she wants to feel the energy and then she creates to make it unique and special.
The red thread belief is the fact that human relations are predestined by a red string (of fate) and connect or are destined to be together either as friends, lovers or even soulmates.
Nancy was part of the military for a few years, earned and honoured as the best female for courage - she learned a lot and her father was hopeful she may continue. However, Nancy knew that was not her path and she did go to Mac and the University of Waterloo.
Both her Mom and Dad passed away very young (52 and 53) within a short period - and at that same time she was married and expecting her first son. A LOT to handle.
She has three very successful boys who are each so different and challenged her in so many different ways as they grew up.  OF course being super creative Nancy made all their clothes costumes, and as they were growing up she explored avenues to share her creativity through the one of a kind show in Toronto, blogs and magazines.
Nancy has four grandchildren and she likely does so many creative things with them although - she is not fond of cooking as much as she is her art.
Much like life - art is layering , creating the underlying meaning - the hope the knowledge and devotion - Nancy has a piece that she created during covid - of the masks as a beautiful gown - representing so much symbolism for the time. It hangs in the Cambridge Gallery.
Nancy  also does Reiki which is energy healing.
Fascinating talk - thank you - and I'm sure I missed a bunch so please sit with and get to know Nancy.
The closing was the smarty analogy her son used - a chocolate bar choice that he was easily able to share - similar to our club pooling our resources and working together to help our community.
Rena Thanked Nancy and our donation immunized 10 children to be polio free.
