Opening and Sgt @ Arms Report
Following the mysterious disappearance of Prez Rena, Next Prez Paul took the reins.  We acknowledged that we live upon first nations land. Matt did the 4 way test, Fireman Neil did the Invocation and we toasted the King of Scotland.

Nancy our SAA said we had 19 members present and one on Zoom. The Zoom was having a bad day.

Our guests: Karen Vella ( George), Marcia Renner, Rob Cox, David Webb, Adam Gracie, Milja Gillespie ( Rena).

50/50 Draw
Johnny was in a sombre mood today. But there is $550 in the pot, both Nancy and Paul of Scotland were looooooozers.

Announcements
Next President Paul said our next President Elect Elect will be Ivana  and that will be our clubs 100th Birthday.
There is money to be spent. I think this is Katie and Community Services venue. There is a lot of need in our Community such as the Bridges and the Food Bank.  Another idea is a Women's Shelter via the YWCA.
No Regular meeting next Thursday. It's Tacos y Tequila night starting at 6 pm at Four Father's Brewing Co in  Hespeler.  100 tickets sold. 75 tickets left. Be there.

Ivana reminded us of our 3rd Annual Gala in April. Proceeds to support Mental Health treatment by giving proceeds to Porch light Counselling.  Bring a bottle of wine to get a raffle ticket which might win you a free ticket for the Gala. There are early bird tickets and sponsorship opportunities.
Club Opportunities

Get on a plane and make a difference.
Good news
Neil has been travelling. Spain and Portugal.
Paul T. said there was a small get together for Larry's 80th birthday. I'm not exactly sure when Larry had a birthday, but definitely sometime in the last year.
Jim Johnson said Marcia is coming back. Now that is good news.
Erica gave us an update on the Boxing training. Ok so far and Jim is doing well too.  Erica had a shiner, supposedly given by her dog. Ha! Jim probably looks worse.
Matt continues his "world tour of Europe 2024".  Done with Sweden and now off to Spain for 3 weeks.
Today's Program
Our speakers were  Anne Marie , Steve and Keith.  They went to the Yucatan in Mexico along with Keith and Sukhi.  They met with local clubs to assess areas of need in 3 communities.
In Torres de la Paz, people live illegally under a Hydro right of way. They live in shacks and poach hydro from the lines. They are illegal immigrants and as such get nothing from the government.  Food is provided by ex-pats from the US and Canada provided the kids come to school to pick it up. Our own funds  will feed 70 kids for one month. Also our club members took down 150 pairs of shoes and items such as toothpaste and brushes.

Needy people in the other two areas of Cozumel Island and Playa del Carmen are  Mexican Citizens and work in the Hotel and construction  trade.  Items given include air conditioners for the school building and school supplies. Composting is also a project on the island of Cozumel. Our club member Rajbir Mann has had a long term relationship with Rotary Clubs in these latter two areas and has facilitated the connection with our club.  Paul M. wondered where this was going. Can there be a larger project such as a water treatment plant.
Anne-Marie thanked the club for supporting this venture.
See you next Thursday evening.
Vamos de fiesta y baile en Taco y Tequila.  Si.
