Opening and Sgt @ Arms Report
President Rena opened with a Land Acknowledgment, 4Way Test by Ivana, and an Invocation by Todd

First off the post we did a New Member Induction!  With us all welcoming Rob Cox to the Club - a unique event for a unique day, Feb 29!

Nancy did a great job at our Sergent At Arms report - however, it was 5 minutes later that we realized no one was doing the bulletin... so the facts of the meeting escape me...

I do recall we had a full house, so  I think 26 people, most were members; I believe guests were Lina, Adam, Tracy, and our gust speakers
50/50 Draw
Jeff ran the 50/50 - and our two losers were two big players Treasurer Tom and President Rena
Announcements
President Rena announced the Sunrise Club is hosting a Trivia Night on April 26 - it sounds like we're shooting for two teams, boys against the girls (and the other 38 teams...)
This has been attended previous years and is always fun; only $20 each, bring your own food if you wish, bar will be open.

Saturday May 11 is the District Conference - a fun and informative Saturday, in Milton - $75, many from the club will be attending

President Elect Paul expressed his thanks for all attending the Levee last weekend, a great time had by all!

Ivana added a plug for the Gala - it's ramping up to be a great night!  $250 per person, but please also consider coming for FREE - we need a few volunteers to help run things - no meal, but the party and Vegas Ambiance is free!!
Good news
Nancy Y - had a birthday on Feb 13!  We'll get it next year ;)

Todd - put in $20 for Past Member Bob Bedford who wished he could have been here to see our Guest Speakers

Brian W - the rowing club bought a brand new big dock!!!

Ivana S - thanked Brian W for being our 'Presenting Sponsor' for the Gala!!!

President Rena - had a great time at '80's Musical Bingo, which raised $7,600 for the Food Bank
Today's Program
PE Paul McM introduced our guest speaker today Hiba Aburaneh from Greenway-Chaplin Neighbourhood Association

- Hiba has 4 kids of her own, and starting volunteering at the Association a few years ago

- it's been running since 1985, out of a home at the centre of the neighbourhood, running programs for kids JK to grade 6

- they have drop in programs - crafts, soccer, science, etc.

- in 2022, Hiba started a woman's group with 2 people - now there are 109 members, where they have different 'trips' around to see the local sites

- in better weather, they also run other programs - earth day, street cleanup, neighbourhood cleanup, gardening, and neighbourhood parties

Nancy Y did a fantastic thank you, totally showing up Matt :), and both were followed by President Rena offering official thanks!
