Announcements and Good News
Prez  Paul announced that this was his last meeting - and although the year had its challenges - it went by quick and was very rewarding.  Paul enjoyed the year and has many lifelong friends since he joined Rotary.
Rotary provides so much to its member you just need to get involved and take the time to get to know members. GREAT year Paul and very sorry to miss this years PREZ ball on June 26th.  It will certainly be a celebration of a successful year in many ways and most in promoting our club to the community - creating much more awareness.  Paul T.  announced BEST ever Ball - don't forget to confirm your tickets.
Our new/ old member Clayton T. added good news his daughters 3rd bday and his amazing fishing trip. The best news was his body survived - try that again when you are 50's and see how that could change.....
Keith announced that it was not only construction season but also GRAD season - providing bursaries to the high schools
Jenn loker from Breakfast club was looking for host families for Exchange program - an amazing program for kids if you are thinking about it JUST do it as it is rewarding for the student and yourselves.
Todd added good news on daughter is almost off payroll... daughter Abigail graduated and walked across the stage to receive her certificate - and along the way shook the Dean of Business Dept hand- now that is good confidence and Karma!

Our very Own PREZ Paul was celebrating a special - next level birthday - of which he had more people show up I'm sure then someone he shares his bday with whom not many globally can relate too.   The best gift I'm sure Paul got was a broken drum  - Cause you can't beat it.........
That may be from Todd's archives.....
Today's Program
Mihlja introduced our two great speakers today - Rotary Exchange students -  Roa from Japan and Samei from Finland. Both having a fantastic grasp of the English language and both proving that they had a great year by the many experiences.
The program provides the kids an unbelievable experience from personal growth and confidence to cultural experiences and life long friends.
Rao, an avid, competitive baseball player who loves watching the Blue Jays Play. He enjoys playing music - is creative and did more weight training in his spare time in Canada. He also loves sunset paddling, canoeing, dogsledding and misses the delicious Rahmen back home. He has a brother in New Zealand and a sister in India.
He is very much looking forward to his cross Canada trip to end his year here in Canada.
Sammy who is also very fit and speaks English flawlessly - really enjoyed her year and finds it similar to her home country although not perhaps as cold. Samei provided more of a history of Finland - it was ruled for 100 years by Russia and 600 years by Sweden.  She enjoys the outdoors very much, teaches cross fit skies and loves to pick mushrooms to make delicious meals.
She has one sister and lives on a lake - in the Lakeland area.  She will never complain about the traffic in Helenski anymore after experiencing the traffic in Toronto.
This program is such a rewarding program for Hosts as well as students - if you are considering just ask Milja, myself or Jenn.
