Well fun-seekers, hump day has come and gone, it is time for a Rotary meeting.
Rena opened and acknowledged the Haudenosaunee and Anishnabne as well as their native wisdom.
Graham of Birmingham did the 4 Way Test and Vanessa of Hilton did the Innvocation. Rotary was toasted.
SAA Nancy said we have 22 of our finest present with Randy and Larry on Zoom. Guests were our speaker Autumn, Laura Hawkins ( Rena's lovely daughter), Dianne Mcleod of the Food Bank and Suzie Motkalub.
Also Jeff Hunter had something special on April 20th, probably a birthday. Erica has been a Rotarian for 29 years as of April 13th.

Dr Tom officially announced ( after hundreds of emails etc) that we will do a garbage clean up at Dumfries Park this Sunday, April 21st from 2 to 4 pm. This is an all club event with about 12-15 people. Bring some gloves.  Park in the lot at Farmboy/ LCBO and we will sally forth into the wilds of Dumfries. Tree planting is on the back burner,
May 11th is District Conference. There is a car pool. Cost of attendance will be paid by the club.

Next Vet's Golf committee mtg is April 24 at 5:30. Hilton Suites.
Club Opportunities
Fellowship:  Access our membership directory in Clubrunner.  Select a Rotarian at random and wish them a wonderful day.  You will both be glad you did.  Thanks Jeff, I can't do better than that. Have a good day.

Good news
Paul McMenemy is going Golfing in Florida tomorrow.
Larry B. is the happy recipient of a bionic ankle. He is enjoying respite at Doon Village.
Jeff said his favourite Superhero was Apollo. He is the God of Archery, Music and Dance, healing and more. He was trying to say that the clean up at the Food Bank is done.
Jim Mcpherson is happy that the 'Brawl' is over. I think he learned something about himself. The Brawl in the Hall raised $336,000 for McMaster Children's Hosp.
Our guest Suzie Motkaluk sat at a table with Larry B. and his wife. (This might have been at the gala, I'm not sure). She has a son with sight disability and was happy to chat with Rosanne who is interested in Literacy.

The Toddler participated in the making of a film for Charitable Giving.  He had his forehead powdered and lost his shine! Hah.

Lastly our club presented Dianne from the Food Bank with a cheque for $5000.00. This will support the Mobile Food Market. Jeff and Katie officiated.

Today's Program
Jeff Hunter introduced our speaker, Autumn Loosemore, who is impact network manager from Sustainable Waterloo Region.
The Impact Network's purpose is to basically support Industry as they endeavour  reduce processes that contribute to Global warming. Some areas of help are reducing operating costs, reducing risk exposure, tracking data, innovation etc.
70  organizations belong to Sustainalble Waterloo Region.
The Regions goal is an 80% reduction in greenhouse gases by 2050.
She feels there is a global acceptance that this needs to be done. More young people are onboard.

We had lots of questions. This is a good sign.
Autumn's organization may help us plant some trees.
She was thanked by Heidi.

Paul told a joke about an older man and woman in a new relationship trying to assess their mutual needs. That sounds a bit vague.
Ryan P. does his 'who am I' next week.
Heidi said there was lots on this w/e. A food tour in Cambridge. Maybe some surprises there. Jersey Boys are still on. On April 27th the Newfie club is having a fundraiser for Oakbridge, a non profit alternative school.
Have a great weekend... will see some of you on Sunday.
