Opening and Sgt @ Arms Report
President Toddler opened the meeting. We were off site at the Hamilton Theatre in bustling downtown Galt.
A tablefull of sandwiches greeted us Rotarians. We dug in. Paul T. wondered if they were on his diet. I said yes.

Jim Johnson was SAA. We had sixteen Rotarians and Rozanne Jonas who is practically a Rotarian.
50/50 Draw
 No 50/50 today.
Announcements

I can confirm that Ivana is hosting the BBQ  at 32 Aspen Ridge court Cambridge  August 25.    There will be no meeting at noon that day.  Show up at 5:00 for social and dinner likely later.

Not much in the way of announcements.

Todd did a trivia : Daniel Kane ( Virgil's brother?) was a speaker at Rotary around 1910. He predicted 1000 rotary clubs in the next 80 years. He was wrong. It only took 11 years.

also: Why are elevator jokes so good? Because they work on many levels.

Club Job Openings
Always looking for a Bulletin Editor - you can be as creative as you like and you will never get fired.  Sometimes you get asked to do it three times in a row.

What can I say? Thankyou Matt for stepping up when the we are short staffed.

Good news
Vince D. said he has joined the  Chaplin YMCA. He is taking up squash and wants someone to be his rival. Raj offered up his dusty squash racquet for anyone taking up the challenge.

Matt said that Paul Morris, ex Rotarian finally got a hole in one.

Rena said she has had a good visit with Linda Breault on Ontario's west coast./
Today's Program
Todays off site programme was the result of our Bingo fundraising efforts. And thanks to Rena for arranging this programme.

So $1500 of our bingo funds has supported Arts Cambridge and provided an introductory morning of theatre for 30 students between ages 10 and 15.
We were greeted by David Connelly and his staff.
The students had worked on some short skits from the film ' The Prom'' and we got to watch them perform and then had the usual paparazzi photo shoot ( Brian W,) with all concerned.
The kids were very enthusiastic and seem to enjoy the experience. And off to Broadway they go...or Stratford.
Thankyou Rena.

Thou art a candle, better burnt out, Thou art as fat as butter. Thine face is not worth sunburning. There is no more faith in thee than a stewed prune. More of your conversation would infect my brain. ( from the Bard)
