Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
President Heidi opened the meeting at 1230.  We had had a good chat beforehand. The Prez did the 4 way test. We have 17 of our best present with no guests. We did the toast to the greater good.
50-50 Draw

  There was no 50/50 draw,
Good News
Todd said the Bingo halls are thinking of opening in a limited fashion. No volunteers at first so will we get into the schedule?
Matt said there is some opening of long term care facilities so he can get to see his mom who is over 100 years in age. Matt you had better have a good RSP. He also said he heard a rumour that Highway 7 between Kitchener and Guelph will be rebuilt. There were suddenly some Elvis sightings along the highway.
Rena wanted to know if we can start doing Euchre again.
Paul T. is spending a lot of time with Bernie ( aka weekend at Bernies). They spend time in bed together and Bernie likes raw meat. And social distancing rules  are still maintained. Go figure.
Jim Mc. said the lake was busy in spite of the marina being closed. Please come fishing. Jim just landed a car headlight and attendant part of fender. I think breading with Beer Batter would do nicely.
Randy said that Paul Sopha had finished chemo and was putting on a little weight.

Jokester
Paul M. managed to slip in a joke during the pre-meeting talk. It was marginally politically correct about having the hots for a John Deer tractor.

Rena introduced our newest Rotarian, Ivana Schibono, who did her ' Who am I".
Ivana was born in Cambridge but her family seemed to spend a good deal of time travelling between here and Italy when she was a kid.
Then her parents got in to the restaurant business. It was pizza, pasta and panzerotties. The work was hard and they had several places on the go.
Her parents were ' old school' and Ivana rebelled against gender roles. She ended up running her own restaurant in Waterloo.
Then she remarried. Robert was also her business partner in the car delivery business. They built a dream home in Cambridge and there were a total of 3 kids and several dogs.
Robert was injured falling from a truck and Ivana had to work extra hard to keep things in the black. She did some consulting in Toronto.
Then they formed a whole new trucking business, Wesder Brand Logistics which was a success.
But then Robert died of cancer in 2018. Times were very difficult for her. She attended the coping centre to help herself move forward. She tried to return to some of her hobbies. And then Rena invited her in to Rotary.
Ivana was thanked by Paul Cody.
She will make a great Rotarian. Thank you Ivana.

Don't forget that we are invited to join the Sunrise Zoom tomorrow am at 715. A family doctor from Cambridge is talking about her experiences during Covid.
