Opening and Sgt @ Arms Report
President Keith was under the weather so I waited a few extra days to write the bulletin just so we know he had his strength back to read about the excitement- yes that is the excuse I'm using !
PP Rena  sparkled and was a great last minute back up to run the meeting.
The Christmas meeting was wonderful - ugly Christmas sweaters..(hoping not to offend anyone) great outfits and lots of Tchotchke things - sounds like Chatzky - it is the Yiddish word for overdone knickknack - accessories/outfits.
PP  Rena started the meeting at 12:30pm with a welcome, land acknowledgement and Roger recited the Four way test and Tom E recited a very nice invocation.

Tracy and Arlette shared the important SAO role - we had 23 Rotarians present, and 2 guests - Grace and Helen whom many know well and great to see out at our meeting - Thanks Lena !

There were no birthdays or anniversaries today as the screen was empty....sorry if we missed the December babies!
50/50 Draw
Johnny Smooth was in fine form - with Arlette winning not once BUT twice - double the luck but NO $$$$$$ - SHUCKS
Hope Arlette bought a lottery ticket ....not often you get to choose two cards!
Announcements and Good News
PLEASE NOTE THIS WEEKS MEETING WILL BE HELD ACROSS FROM GALT COUNTRY CLUB AT MEHFILL- the curtain of lights.

Our annual Christmas Party was an amazing success - thanks to our new member ERIK who organized and his team of Elves helping with the music the organizing of the animals and ensuring every family had a wonderful time. THANKS Mike, Tracy and JIM Johnston who donated 198 pairs of socks of the 400 pairs that were donated.
Tracy and a few other Rotarians did drop off the socks to Trinity Table and they found it hard to believe when they saw the kitchen - there was no dishwasher and a very outdated - fire hazard type of stove which needs replacing - yet they still feed so many 100 s every week! Truly amazing work
Once again overall great social event for members, spouses, significant others, kids if you have them and friends of Rotary

Paul T. Acknowledged how hard Todd works behind the scenes for Rotary in so many areas (although he must have been tired at the Lang's Dinner see below) Areas - that require a lot of dedication to get results and move forward. Not to mention all the support, the kind and considerate work Todd does for so many in the club. Thanks Paul for making that announcement - well deserved and needed.
Lucky we have so many almost/retired guys working in our club - not wonder we are still the best Club in Cambridge.
:)

Wednesday December 10- Community Christmas Dinner at Langs - was very successful!  Rena mentioned we had great participation from the Club and some worked harder than others ......some just stood around talked and watched as others did the heavy lifting.....there is always one.....thanks to all who helped

Clear your calendar for Boots and Bands which will be April 4th - committee meeting was Thursday Dec11

Euchre Night January 22nd - practice over the holidays - skill is not required - if you need some tips President Keith is a pretty good card shark.

Good News:
Matt Morris - back from travelling the world - busy month - Grey Cup, Cuba and New Car.
Todd thanked Tracy and George as well as Steve and Ann Marie for Boxing Day and New Years Day Bingo sign up.
Can't remember the other good news ....and it really was nice to see Helen who is also a PPres of Rotary Sunrise club. Todd and Helen were Presidents at the same time- many moons ago.

Today's Program
Song Bird Pearson did a fantastic job facilitating the 12 days of Christmas - the winners of the strongest voices was of course the duo of Johnny Smooth and Tom E.
The FIVE Golden Rings took the stage by surprise and carried the tune the entire way through - next up was the CaCa's by the one and only Paul T. and his Four Calling birds.
The White Elephant Game - George S. was the lucky winner of the Ladies Night game which he was planning on bringing it to bingo to play but luckily someone stole the gift.
John's Sausage was once again popular this year - as was a box of scratch tickets - not to mention the return of the CHICKEN.
During the 12 days song I almost forgot to mention that it was discussed  Jim Johnston's sensitivity training is really coming along.
It was a super fun afternoon - thanks to Todd, Rena, Murray and Tracy for running the show. All of those names were past Presidents aside from Tracy.......hmmmm....is that an idea????
For those those that won't be at the meeting tomorrow - Wishing you and your families a very MERRY Christmas and all the very best for a Happy Healthy 2026!!

Cheers to you
