Good news

I think we had the best of all good news I have heard in a very long time - kinda of like Mic Drop.
PP Jim was at the hospital for day procedure - when you are over 50 there are a few...
All was good when he was released from hospital until it wasn't - Jocelyn found him not breathing so Jim was very lucky that Jocelyn knew CPR.
It is a wakeup/ reminder to live and love life- and the club wouldn't be the same without him!!
Today's Program
Lynn Davidson from National Service Dogs was our speaker and she did a very informative presentation - the word placement and casual conversation with the club proved she must love what she does with the organization. She is actually allergic to dogs and never had pets growing up.
She does have a background in special events and has worked for many not for profit organizations.  In her spare time she loves to travel, live music and movies. She currently lives in Brantford.
The organization is spectacular in that they help so many from small children, families, organizations requiring dogs such as Child Witness protection program, hospitals, seniors homes and veterans. There is such a need for NSD and I am sure the demand far outweighs the ability to keep up volunteers to train the pups.
The training takes about two years before they will be released to a family and those that are fortunate to receive them are also responsible to be good care providers. The dogs are meant to serve and cannot when not fed or taken care of properly. Those that do have a service dog also have a Dr's note for them - this document is always placed in the vest of the service dog.
NSD is an International organization- sharing ideas and training information not to mention a breeding co-operative - "boyfriend in a box" for particular traits required and traditional breeding.
The organization always requires volunteers whether that would be taking in a pup, training, weekend support for the volunteers.
If you are interested please reach out.
Suhki thanked the speaker and President Paul acknowledged that 10 children will be immunized against Polio for Lynn speaking to the club.
Both Todd and Pres. Paul had some great jokes - extra pair of socks as there was a hole in one....just to get everyone thinking about the golf tournament Monday!
Sandwich program

Cambridge Nourish Kitchen operates at 26 Ainslie St S ..  soup kitchen and sandwiches Thursday and Sunday
