Today's Program
Our very own Erica brought us up to speed on all things Foundation.
Hey Folks...this club has its own Charitable Foundation.....here to for referred to as RCPH Foundation....That is ROTATY CLUB OF PRESTON HESPELER FOUNDATION   and not to be confused with ROTARY INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION.  ( Our two other club funds are Membership Fund  and Charitable Fund....not mentioned here) Got it ?
Our club is unique in having its own Foundation. It has been successful. It has a separate board from our main Rotary board. No money is spent on its management.
Presently the Foundation has $610,000 in its account. 100% of its funds go back into the community. Donations get a tax receipt.
How does it Grow? 1/ $ from Good News.
                               2/bequests in wills
3/ Restricted funds/ Endowments: With these there is some direction as to how the money is spent. This has to be managed.  Examples are many. Wilf Reich's bequest was to help small business ventures, Al Gmelin asked the money go to ECE grads at Conestoga College. etc.
You can give to our foundation via Paul Harris Fellows, life insurance policies, donations in shares, codicil to will etc. I will leave it at that. Talk to our Foundation board members for details.

We have our 100th Anniversay to think about in 2026. Matt and Erica are thinking about some ideas.

Thankyou Erica for your dedication and hard work.

Heidi ended by asking us to wear orange at next week's meeting for Truth and Reconsiliation Day. (Suhki will wear his hunting regalia). Also its Donkey Day at the Donkey Sanctuary on Sunday at 10 am. Sort of like ' Running with the donkey'. Olay! Will cost $40. Talk to Heidi for details.
Also Fest2Fall at Dickson Park  this weekend.
Don't get hit by a baseball.
