Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
President Heidi chaired the first ever Live/Zoom meeting flawlessly.

The 4-way test was recited by Ivana.

We had 23 members (18 live and 5 on Zoom) with 1 guest - Julie Watts.

50-50 Draw

Even though Johnny Smooth was at the meeting, he left the cards at home and there was no 50/50 draw.
Good News
Linda had a thank you message from Janet McKelvey, which follows

My heartfelt thanks to all members of your Rotary Clubs for the grants that helped us complete an addition to the orphanage we have been working on for a few years.

Canadapura was started after the 2004 tsunami in Sri Lanka for children who lost their parents in that disaster. As there is great need in the area for safe shelter for children and teens living in challenging family situations, it required an extension 5 years ago. The Monk, who is the driving force behind Candadpura, was born in Sri Lanka and now lives in the Toronto area. I was fortunate to meet him and learn of the need for more accommodations.

For the last four years we have gradually completed rooms and children have moved in. With thanks to your extraordinary gift we were able to get the last rooms done this year. With this expansion now complete, Canadapura has doubled the number of children it can help from 25 to 50 and there is now separate space for teenage boys.

We are so grateful to you for this assistance. Without your grants it may have taken another couple of years to get all the work done.

With sincere thanks from the Monk, staff and children of Canadapura - and me!

Roger shared that a Rotary member that was stuck overseas has finally got home (didn't get the name)

Paul T thought it was good news that we were all together - Amen brother!

Job openings:
  1. Speaker Seekers: Jeff and Larry are looking for help finding speakers for our club.
  2. Strategic Planning Committee.  Contact President Heidi.
  3. Committee for Historical Excellence.  Contact Larry or Jim J.
Program
Jeff Introduced our speaker; Julie Watts from Lang's.

Julie talked to the group about the Science of Happiness, including our own Happiness Scale exercise.  Based on the Happiness scale she discussed, I have some work to do....

It was a very powerful talk and rather than try to reproduce what she said, I had Julie send me her presentation.  I cant figure out how to attached to this bulletin so I will email it separately.

However, if you were not there, I have a little exercise for you....Clench your fist real tight...notice that you stopped breathing?  Now close your eyes, relax and breath into the clenched fist (figuratively).  Notice the difference in the fist?  Pretty cool huh?

Linda had a very heartfelt thanks for Julie...and so do I!
