Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
President Rajbir opened the meeting at 12:39.

Jimmy J did the S&A report, luckily only 15 Rotarians (Jim has issues if he has to count past 20...) plus Rena and Kirstie zooming in - and Titi joined us a little behind schedule

Dr. Murray did the 4-Way Test, and Katie read the Invocation
50-50 Draw

Ivanna did a fine job with the 50/50 - who knew replacing Johny Smooth was so easy!  The first big loser was Dr. Murray, but unfortunately, I then lost focus and forgot to write down the second loser...  the pot thickens!

Announcements and Upcoming Events
- Ivanna - informed all that Water First has been chosen as the beneficiary of our Crystal Drops of Life Gala, coming up in January - we hope to have tickets available by next week's meeting!
- Paul T. Cody - reminded us of our upcoming Christmas Party - at the GCC, free for members, and only $65 for spouses/significant others/guests.  He will be gathering names for a final count due one week previous.
- Paul also told all of the informal 'meeting before the meeting' and 'meeting after the meeting' that generally takes place in the GCC bar area every Thursday - totally informal, totally optional, all are welcome!
- Todd L - announced that our FIRST bingo volunteer spot is tomorrow, and will be filled by Ann-Marie!  Thank you!!
Program
Ann-Marie, our Foundation Chair, introduced our guest speaker Susanne Zbinden - a Rotarian since 2008, a member of the Orangeville-Highland Club, and the District Foundation Chair for Foundation Giving

Susanne stepped us through the many different ways to support The Rotary Foundation, and the differing levels of recognition available, for personal contributions, and for club contributions.

Donations can be made to the Annual Fund, the Endowment Fund, Polio Plus, or can be directed to any of the 7 Areas of Service.

All options are laid out well on Rotary.org/en/donate

An interesting stat is that if you add up all donations between $100-$249 in a given year, they total over 25 million dollars, proving that EVERY donation counts, even the small ones.

One initiative is "Every Rotarian Every Year" which encourages all of us to donate a minimum of $25 (US) to the Foundation annually....   $2.50 a month?  Not a big deal, it just takes 5 minutes....

If you have any questions about all of the different options and programs available, please reach out to Ann-Marie.

Todd L did an awesome job :) thanking our speaker - and also pointed out Susanne was wearing a 'Rotary Legacy' pin; there are only 13 of these pins being worn in all of Canada (and two belong to Susanne and her Husband Richard) - this pin indicates they have bequeathed to the Foundation, upon their death, a minimum of $1,000,000 US!!   Now THERE'S a target to shoot for!

Susanne wrapped up by letting us know about the 2022 District 7080 Conference, being held May 28 at Bingemans.  It sounds like there will be something for everyone, including a wrap up banquette - mark your calendars!
