Today's Program
Dr. Tom introduced our Honorary Member Heather Cooper  who was our first female president. ln a time when women were few and far between.

Heather sought out senior members whether they would support her as Prez..  All said yes.  Frank Rushton was her mentor  back then and her biggest supporter.  Her first presidency was also the year that Ralph Adams was going to be our DG which added to her work load.

Heather is now the current Prez of one of the womens club in town.  There are two womens clubs in town.  Probus stands for Professionals and Business.  This  is for retired B
usiness and Professionals.  The first Probus club started in Galt in the 70s.. The mens club meets once a month. year around.  The womens club meets 10 months of the year.  They have a speaker once a month.   There are many groups with in Probus.  Some meet  in separate groups depending on interest which include books, travel, euchre poker etc.

Interestingly enough we sponsored the mens club and the first womens club in Cambridge.    Heather was Prez and attended the first meeting,

Probus does no fundraising but does support some charity by toy drives or donating to food bank etc.

October 16 there is meeting together of the 3 Probus clubs which we are invited I think.

I know someone thanked Heather but i  have forgotten who.  Prez Rena is going to vaccinate 10 children for polio.
