We also need a Bulletin Editor for the second week of the month. In fact, we would do well to have a few 'back up Bulletin Editors" to jump in for some dates during the winter months. Pay and benefits to be negotiated.

It appears we are in need of a Prez Elect as Ivana Schibono has resigned. The Board will be looking to fill this position. Today's Program
Paul Codi who is a 39 year veteran in Real Estate talked about local markets 2024 was not a great year for real estate agents as sales  listings and average prices were lower.
2024 was thought to be a buyers market/  Prices are expected to rise as interest rates are expected lower,   First time buyers will be encouraged by lower rates and new mortgage rules of 30 year amortization.
Local governments  are lowering restrictions on buildings which will help with supply in the rental industry.

Ryan Pollington  talked about Financial markets...  Any targets from last year were blown by as financial markets  exceeded expectations.
Target base case is 6700  for S&P 500 and  28500 for TSX for 2025

At the moment Business sentiment is low.  Consumers in Canada are less pessimistic.   Interest rates are expected to be lower in Canada.
.The wild car is Trump//   a 25 % Tariff would play havok to financial markets . leading to a recession in Canada which means higher unemployment and potentially a 30 % hit to markets//

At present financial markets are not taking Trump seriously as they are not that far of 2024 highs.
Todd Lyons thanked Paul and Ryan for speaking and Prez Paul is going to vaccinate 10 kids in their honour.
