Opening and Sgt @ Arms Report
Following a brief interruption by Paul Cody's cell phone, newly elected Prez Paul McMenemy opened the meeting at 12:30.with a land acknowledgement.
Sukhi gave the 4 way test and Vanessa gave the invocation.  SA Nancy, under her new leadership, said there were 25 members present plus 2 on Zoom.  The 3 guests present were Suzanne, Stephen (last and very brief time attending as a guest*) and First Lady, Suzanne.
A toast is a ritual in which a drink is taken as an expression of honour or goodwill; a toast will occur at future meetings.
*Steven Witteveen was then inducted into our club with open arms so he could attend the meeting as a member.
50/50 Draw
Suzanne puled Steve's number and Steve pulled Ryan's number. Both were losers
Announcements
Paul announced that he changed the bylaws, giving himself full Presidential immunity. Please note that the Supreme Court (First Lady, Suzanne) is challenging this.
BBQ is at Tracey's  August 15  216 Kitchener Road. The Fo' Cheezy truck will be onsite.
Paul also thanked Rotarians for their support during the passing of his sister.

Club Opportunities
  1. The club is looking for additional Bulletin Editors. It's a great way to contribute from home.
  2. Through the Magic of Rotary, let's recognize and amplify our organization's power to save lives.
Good news
Erica is off to Boston (Jeff thanked Erica for recognizing his Easter eggs in a past bulletin)
The Cambridge Shelter's Corporation's landscaping social enterpirse https://www.inourbackyard.ca/ continues to impress our membership with great work.
Following a battle with Streptococcal Pharyngitis, Todd's daughter emerged triumphant and headed to Northern Ontario following the meeting.
Today's Program
Heidi introduced our speaker, Rob Cox whom many know and appreciate as former Food & Beverage Manager at Galt Country Club.  Heidi and I personally appreciate how attentive he was to dietary restrictions.
Rob commented several times throughout his presentation on how the Rotary Club of Cambridge, Preston-Hespeler is THE best club - ever!
Rob has worked for over 20 years in the hospitality business and, after 2 short stops at Canadian Federation of Independent Business and the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce is now an Insurance Agent at HD Mutual Insurance Company-and loving it!
Rob is a "miracle baby" from Uxbridge, Ontario where many chickens and famous and influential folks originate. Rob is not currently on this distinguished list, but being so young, he has plenty of opportunity.
And opportunities do bless Rob: after given a golden chance following college to work at Lake Louise, Rob became a VERY young owner of Ernie's Roadhouse in Hespeler which provided him the skills to relaunch both Patti House and Perch restaurants.
These positions were not easy and Rob overcame many struggles such as indoor floods, with the strength and support of his family (loving wife, Kara, 2 great kids, Maelle and Abel and many, many pet chickens). Definitely their father's children, Maelle has exquisite taste in food, Abel loves hamburgers and their chickens only dine at Guy Savoy restaurants.
Rob's life was rounded by a 5 week college trip to Mexico and a trip to Dubai with a rugby team. Rob loves coaching sports.
Rob will make an awesome Rotarian

I missed Todd's joke that closed the meeting but I have one of my own:
Why did Rob's chicken cross Coronation Blvd?
To get to the best Rotary club in the world!
