Opening and Sgt @ Arms Report
I was late....    President Keith most likely opened the meeting and acknowledged First Nations land and their ancient wisdom.

Someone at President Keith's table said the Invocation, and PK probably toasted Rotarians around the world.

Newly minted Arlete announced we had 22 Rotarians present, and no guests.  That's about when I arrived, messing up the count - but then a new potential member, Ryan, came in, so, ya, I wasn't last :)

There were no birthdays or anniversaries today.
50/50 Draw
Johnny Smooth was in fine form - with Paul T Cody taking the first loss - which means he had 3 consecutive tickets drawn, as I think both last week's were his!

The second loser was.... Wayne P!  better luck next time!

Items for the YWCA Women's shelter are due Dec 12th, so the last meeting to bring robes, gift cards etc is December 11th.

Good News:

Only one today....  Todd L says he was late to the meeting due to a call to coordinate flights for a daughter to come home for Christmas, and is looking forward to the time they'll have at home.

Today's Program
Todd L ran through the 100th Year ideas that have come up, along with our existing events; we have a busy 6 months ahead!

A brief review:

1/ Electronic Time capsule....  Grade 5 kids will be asked to give a snapshot of what is going on in their lives, short stories, etc.  'winners' will be collected, printed, and bound (thank you Andrew Leith!)
  - printed copies to libraries/archives
  - John J suggested reaching out to past KidsAbility kids/families for testimonials and a 'where are we now' for an additional section in the book
    Milja G, Lina V

2/ Grade 12ers, essay contest, writing about the Rotary 7 Areas of Service
  - $10,000 in awards in 2026

  Keith P, Andrew L

5/ Duck race - in conjunction with the City of Cambridge festival in Mill Race Park
  - lots of technical stuff for starting line, finishing line, and duck collection
  - in the works - looked like close to 100% enthusiasm to assist on the day!
  - will need a small number of members to do the 'prep' work...
    Todd L, Brian W, George S, Wayne P, Sukhi G

6/ The Hilborn Property which is owned by our Foundation; more to come...
    - Foundation Board handling

7/ 100th Birthday Party - April 29, 2026
  - likely $50 or less per person, cost recovery, not a fundraiser
  - cocktail style party, at GCC if possible, maybe 4pm-8pm
  - tables and chairs, but not a full 'dinner'
  - focus on fellowship, not long speeches
  - George S offered to sponsor the 'guests of honour'!
Paul TC, Larry B, John and Rosanne J

And of course, we have our 'regular' slate of events!!!

This is why we're all here, let's get involved!

Clayton T brought up a new idea - a 'partnership' with his business so that any electronic recycling we're responsible for bringing in nets us some $$$$$  Definitely worth exploring!

By the end....   Paul McM and Todd L were all out of material...   so President Keith shared his personal feelings and pride about being a member of such a wonderful organization - the more involved you are, the more you'll realize just how right Keith is!

Have a great Friday everyone - hope to see you Sunday!
