Opening and Sgt @ Arms Report
Next President Keith Peers opened and acknowleged that we live on the ancestral lands of our Native People.
Adam did the Four Way test and Paul Cody did the Innvocation.
We toasted Canada realizing now that we have something to be thankful for. Hurray Captain Canuck, boo to Captain America!

Tracy was SAA. 16 Rotarians but 3 were on Zoom. Rena ( yes we noticed your tan), Mike and maybe Randy. Our guests from Shelterbox Canada were Marissa Sophia ( our speaker) and Saika.
No known birthdays and anniversaries today.

50/50 Draw
Johnny Smooth was back from the depredations of a 2 week cruise.
Both big ticket holders, Paul T and Jimmy McPherson were losers.

Announcements
Lina found a real deal for a Group Tour to Costa Rica  on Nov 8-15/25.  Let her know if you are interested.
Steve reminded us of Tacos e Tequila on May 2nd. It is a fun fundraiser.
Tracy and Jim McPherson spoke of Boots and Bands on March 29th..It's a country theme folks, get out your leathers. There will be 2 bands and food a la Carte by the Lancaster Smokehouse Food truck. But there will be food for the Vegetarians....right? We would like 350 to attend.
Hammershots  will be available for the intrepid. Tickets are on sale. See Randy Cole's email of Jan 30  for tickets or sign up on Rotary PH.com. Share on social media whatever that is.

Club Opportunities
Larry is looking for speakers for 2025. Please help him with some ideas.
Also we are looking for some bulletin editors and volunteers. ( for just about anything.)
And you can apply to be the Fentanyl Czar....no intelligence required.

Good news
Todd and his cheque book drove 4023 km to visit his daughters, Hailey in Halifax and Abigail in Ottawa. Abigail is looking for a job.  Todd, you are a good dad.
Johnny Smooth found a ten dollar bill on the cruise ship. He is off again in 2 more weeks looking for warm weather.
But Keith found a 20 dollar bill in the GCC parking lot.
Hey, another fund raising idea,
Today's Program
Marissa from Shelterbox Canada on Zoom was introduced. But then there were some technical issues. We could see her but not hear her.  But I was hearing her just fine through my hearing aids. What ho! Yes my naughty Android phone had scooped up the signal for personal use. We put an end to that and the show went on.
Marissa was educated in Waterloo Region but now resides in Chatham. She joined Shelter box in 2024 and is manager of fundraising and development.
Shelter box started as an idea in a small Rotary Club in Cornwall, England
It provides Emergency Shelter and Disaster Relief...shelter materials, water filtration and small amounts of cash.
120 million people are currently 'displaced' world wide. In 2023 Shelter box helped 350,000 people.
It is recognized by the UN.
We can volunteer, fund raise or donate to help.
At present we give $1600/ year to Shelter box.
Thank you Marissa.

Keith asked us to think about a club President after his year. We will also need board members.
Todd told a joke that he  blames on Murray P.  What do you call a cow whose milk has dried up? A milk dud.  But what do you call the milk Todd?.... powdered milk. Hah.
