As general manager of Better Building Solutions, Murray’s job is to “keep the trains running on time” for building projects in remote Northen Ontario First Nations Communities. In 2024 this involves 12 projects in 8 communities.

Murray is also the principal and owner of Blue Canoe Consulting, where he helps companies make the necessary organizational changes to enable growth and success.

3 years ago, Better Building Solutions was a client of Blue Canoe Consulting. And then they made an offer he could not refuse to join the team full time.

Murray is currently serving a 2-year term as Chair of the Board of The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce.

He lives in Ayr, ON with his wife, Felicity and they are the parents of two adult daughters who are busy making their marks on the world.

When not managing the challenges of building in remote communities hundreds of kilometres beyond the ends of the highways, Murray is an avid canoeist, with a blue canoe, of course, whose happy place is a back-country campsite in Ontario’s provincial parks and wilderness areas.
