Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
President Paul T called the meeting to order after we had had a social time with nibblies and drinks. Ongoing slide show of this year's events was organized by Brian Waddell.
Murray Pearson was here so we could sing O' Canada in keeping with the 150th.
Paul McMenemy did the 4 way test. No Joke.
Linda B. said the invocation. It was about fellowship and service and Rotarians trying to make the world a better place.
Cayley was SAA. We had 28 members present and 5 guests. We had some honourable members attending and also Paul M's wife Suzanne. It was great to see some of the 'golden oldies' present in the form of Todd Lyons, Wilf, Bill Mitchell and Murray Pearson. Don't worry guys you still have a lot of clicks on the speedometer.
Health and Good Cheer
None this week even though George was among us.
50-50 Draw
Linda did the 50/50 draw. 315 bucks in the pot. Todd and Tom both were losers.
Good News
Linda spoke of an enjoyable President's Ball and her pleasure at winning ' Rotarian of the Year'.
Joe Gowing was pleased to be named ' Rookie of the Year'.
Cayley spoke of a great time at the Rotary International Convention. It is in Toronto next year so we can all sign up.
In his official position as District Treasurer, Bill Mitchell brought us congratulations from The District. Change over dinner was last week and our club was honoured by being awarded the ' Development Award', only one of eight such awards presented.

It was Paul's last day ' on the podium' and he thought that was good news. He gave the podium over to Paul McMenemy who told his last official joke at our club. He and Suzanne will be moving due to job committments.
Jokester Paul

Further comments on the Jokester. Paul M. likes us to score his jokes.I did not know that. I would say a 10/10 on plot line but maybe it lost a little in the climax and denouement. Paul will definitely be given a re-match.

Announcements and Upcoming Events
Jim McPherson reminded us of a Habitat build day on July 18th. Sign up. 15 Rotarians needed to do framing.

Joe Gowing said we need more walkers and collectors to go with the Canada Day float on Saturday. If you are inclined please be there at Bishop and Hamilton streets in Preston at 1215, parade starts at 1 pm. Also events at Riverside park are occuring all day and are free.

Program
Paul took the podium for his last time as Pres. He agreed that the Presidents Ball was great. His theme was fellowship and this was successfully accomplished through the year with a plethora of social occasions.
Noah wasn't at the Ball so he received a box of blank cheques today. This kind of present is highly prized by accountants...apparently.
Paul thanked Joe Gowing for his efforts through the year, also that Linda was ' his right hand'  and thanked Larry Brokenshire for his weekly reminders in the email. He thanked Cayley for her efforts and Heidi for the very large Martini Glass that she gave him at the beginning. It has been well used .
He thanked Brian Waddell for his constant efforts in the photo department.

Paul listed our fundraising accomplishments. Best Bites $20,000, Oktoberfest $56,000. (Thankyou John Jonas,) Roses $11,000, The New Golf Tournement $17,000, 1/2 going to Veterans, and Kids Ability $36,000.

He feels our club is in a great position with new members coming on board and getting involved. Also old members still chugging along.
He spoke of he and Jim McPherson becoming friends and how they had to 'Jump Start' Heidi when she had a flat battery near Jim's cottage. Paul is looking forward to Jim's upcoming year.

Erica read a ' roasting email' from Chris Wood who is up at her cottage. Chris said that the title ' St Paul' would be wrong for Paul T. For Sure. He should be a stand up comedian. Yes. Also an eye catcher in Funky glasses and orange shoes.
Then Murray Pearson told a story about golf on Wednesdays with Paul and how Paul's colourful attire was noted. Murray went to the Pro-shop and asked to be similarly attired. He was told ' Forget it, You'll never catch up!"

That's about it. Paul toasted Jim , them Jim toasted Paul. The Gavel was handed over.
Paul, Thanks for a great year.
