Membership Minute

Paul McMenemy has been on and off member for 6 years.  Mostly on though.  His last two bosses were also Rotarions and the latest is our current Prez.  Paul was instrumental in starting our Clubs golf tournament.  Paul is proud veteran of our Canadian military.
Opening and Sgt at Arms Report

President Jim opened the meeting, Chad  read the 4 way test . The Invocation was read by Katie K who  has blessed us by her presence two weeks in a row.
There were 22 Rotarions and guests were Bob Bedford, Sammy Ahwaal, Elizabeth Terri, Bridget Jensen, Randy Renner and Caitlyn McIntyre.
Health and Good Cheer
No news is good news - however, we do miss those Rotarians who have not been to a few meetings and hoping that they are planning on making it out soon.
50-50 Draw
John Jonas was back.  Next week John will accept rings , watches etc in lieu of cash for the 50 50.  Losers were  jim Johnston and Todd.
Good News
Bob Bedford brought out a guest.  He also met an un happy customer of Paul 's from a previous career.  That many years ago I suppose Paul  can be forgiven.  I guess though Paul could sell anything.
Guest Caitlyn McIntyre is happy that family friend is recovering from treatment of a rare disease in the States.

Murray P apologized for his absence and not being able to sing new words for O'Canada.    Anyway he is off to Scotland to defend  aRotary Curling title from the Friendship side.  He is curling with a group from Guelph Rotary. Perhaps he can  lead us into a practice session on O Canada  when he returns.
Dean and his spouse are off to Peru.

Prez Jim has a dog named Fefe ( enough said)
Jokester
Paul was back in rare form .  PG rated and the women seemed to appreciate it.   Laugh factor 8

Speaker

Megan Davidson , did her who am I talk today.  Megan is from British Columbia  and is not quite 31 years of age. She got her undergraduate degree in English Lit from UBC.    From there she went off to University of London Queen Mary Law  school.  At the end of that she met her soon to be fiancĂ©e Jon.    After a long distance relationship they both graduated from the bar at Osgoode..  Megan articled at Pavey Law and has stayed on afterwards taking over Cayley Rodds practice.  Soon to be husband Jon articled and stayed on with Gowlings in Kitchener.  Jon's family is from KW which explains how they ended up here.

Megan pretends to be shy. Does not like public speaking.   Her practice  consists of Estate and wills , commercial  and real estate law.  Megan avoids  court work.

Megan has a younger sister who is one of 7 in her wedding party.  Megan is quite loyal with her female friends as she put them all in her wedding party.   August 5 is the big day in BC.

Megan is particularly  appreciative for her grand parents.    They did treat her well with family vacations almost every where in North America and Europe.  Megan has travelled extensively Europe sometimes by herself  when she was attending school there.

Megan comes by joining  a service club naturally.  She won a service award in high school.   I believe that since joining Rotary in January she has helped out Erica with the Foundation and also filled in for us in the Rotary Can Am Bonspiel in Stratford.  We all are blessed that she has joined us.

Paul Codi thanked her and Prez Jim gave the official thanks.
