Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
Prez Jim opened the meeting.
Mike read the 4-way test and Noah did the invocation.

Only 18 members here today.  Why so few?  Guests were Wally Wood, Ken Bell (our speaker), and David and Lindsey (aspiring members).
Health and Good Cheer
No Health and Good Cheer, meaning all is good this week.
Membership Minute
Today's membership minute was from Heidi.  She has been a member for 3 years, club secretary for the past 2 years.  Heidi grew up in Paris, ON, and is the baby of an Austrian family. Among her passions are yoga, giving back to her community, and prisoner rehabilitation.  On the last point, she counsels (as a volunteer) weekly at P4W in Kitchener and now at Attica in New York state!
50-50 Draw
Back to square one this week for the 50/50.  Paul T Cody conducted the draw again.  Drawn by Megan and duly lost by Pres Jim (thank goodness) and Dean.
Good News
Chris W is leaving this week for golf at Hilton Head, then a cruise out of Florida, then staying in Florida for two months.  She didn't mention if Wally was going too.
Joe has been nominated and will be acclaimed as the local candidate for the Provincial Liberal Party.  Congratulations Joe!
Megan found a wedding dress.
Pres Jim bought back his old business, the biggest distributor of fitness equipment in Canada.
Coincidentally, Paul M has become the VP and general manager of a very large distributor of fitness equipment.
Jokester
Paul told a joke about a faithful groom.  Definitely adult-rated, but judging by the groan-meter maybe a 5 on the funny scale.
Announcements and Upcoming Events
Tom E spoke at great length, telling us more than we wanted to know about our curling Bonspiel on March 1.  Sign up your team with Megan using the form linked here.  Contact Matt if you can provide prizes. matt.morris@rbc.com
Pres Jim wants you for the Collingwood ski weekend, where he plans to spend his recent 50/50 winnings to make sure everyone has a good time.

Program
Dr. Tom introduced our speaker today, Ken Bell, who is the former Director of Education at the Waterloo Regional District School Board.
Ken and his wife Elizabeth have spend a good deal of time in Nunavut, and he gave a very interesting talk on the culture, living conditions, education, and the effects of climate change in Canada's north.  One thing that stuck with me is a legal case pushing for action on climate change, to protect the Inuit "Right to be Cold".  A different world.
