Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
Pre-meeting chat:
Jim Mcpherson needs a hair cut. Yes he does, or a hair elastic. Call him if you can do it. Free swim and martini at his dacha if you can.
Randy wants to know if anyone remembers the names or contact info of the 2 pipers that attended the 2019 golf tournament. Let him know if you can.
Chad has a new look. Tres teutonic! Have you been building a Viking long boat in your garage during Covid?
Paul T narrowly missed Ida Pearson with his car by driving into the patio at GCC. He had not been drinking. Fortunately she had.

This is Rajbir Mann's first meeting as President. Pouring rain and no golf. A good start.
Rajbir opened the meeting.
Paul Cody did the 4 way test. There was a toast to Rotary and the Canadian Parliamentary System.
SAA report: 18 of our best and no guests.

Announcements and Upcoming Events
Larry Brokenshire reminded us of the Toastmasters/Rotary 3 club extravaganza on July 22nd. It starts at 715 pm. Larry will send us an Eventbrite link for sign up. It will be a good opportunity to see our fellow Rotarians in person. (we hope)

Raj said he was going to talk a lot, because the District Governor would not be present today to help with the induction of our new president ( himself) and our new board. So he will have to wear several hats and do it all himself.

Program
Firstly, Raj Mann inducted himself. He pledged to carry out his duties to our club, the District and Rotary International.
Then he inducted the new board members who stood up to identify themselves.
He welcomed the members of our club, (those not virtually present can consider themselves welcomed with the receipt of this bulletin).
He thanked Past President Heidi for her term at the tiller during this past difficult year.

Our newly inducted President Rajbir Mann now presented his road map for the upcoming year. I will mention the highlights.
He said the board will report to the members and the members will have a chance to give feedback. This will happen monthly at one of our regular meetings.
We must strive to ' engage' post Covid. He said that Rotarians stay with the club due to its fellowship. So meaningful events need to happen to create this fellowship.
He will stress Membership during his term. Please invite guests to our meetings. Do not pre-judge the individual.
He wants our club to grow more and do more.

Fundraising:  Veteran's Golf in October. Randy said sponsorship was coming along nicely. ( Nothing to do with that Party in Ottawa). Public will be able to book a tee time as of August 2nd.
Bingo. The Toddler thinks it may go live in October.
Roses. Toddler, Katie and Brian. Kick off mid August.
Raj said ' Will there be Eucre?'
He plans to launch a new fundraiser. Is it a surprise?
Rena has some exciting Community projects. Langs Xmas dinner again. It was a blast.  The grant application for the 'mobile' food bank Pantry Van is approved by District so we can make it happen.
Raj gave us a quick update of International Projects. The clean water project will continue. There will be a cooperative project to supply wheelchairs to Playa del Carmen hospital in Mexico. ( Mexican Riviera). We need to firm up our club/ district Environmental Project to coincide with the goal of Rotary International.
Anne Marie Belanger is our new Rotary Foundation Chair.
Brian will continue to tweek the websites.
Heidi will become our Club Secretary.
Todd is President Elect. Erica is our Charitable Foundation Chair ( Not to be confused with Rotary International Charitable Foundation). There will be another Wilf Reich day in October.

In closing Raj said Rotary is a committment but enjoy it as well. Be an ambassador for Rotary where ever you go. Wear a Rotary pin. It will start conversations. If you don't have one, Raj will get one for you!
Thanks, Raj. We are looking forward to a great year.
