Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
President Jim opened the meeting, Sandra read the 4 way test and Noah did the invocation.
We sang O Canada.
Joslin was Sargeant at Arms -  good to see that it was more than a full house - lots of guests and members out today.
Health and Good Cheer
No news is always good news - hoping all the members and their families are healthy.
Membership minute - none however, here is a bit of historical info - Charles Whitney donated the funds to build the Whitney Walk - some may have used that boardwalk at Riverside Park.
50-50 Draw
Jim Johnston sold and officiated the 50/50 draw both Heidi and Joe were this weeks LOSERS and the pot continues to build.
Good News

Chris Wood - announced that the district was looking for nominations for District Governor - it might be a good idea if you are semi retired - a few parameters need to be considered - you need to have been club president, worked in the capacity in some way at District and are willing to spend LOTS of time on the road.
Cayley - good but not so good news. We will need to drive to Barrie in the New year if we want to visit with Cayley as she is relocating to the Barrie/Orillia area.  We will certainly miss her sense of humour, her dedication to our community and all of her fabulous creativity and organization she has brought to our club. Cayley has made this move to be able to spend more time together with her boyfriend Tim and his kids.  Of course she has been recruited by the Rotary club in Barrie already...however, as I understand she is still curling with us in January - whoot whoot!! Road trips will be on the agenda once they find a home together !! I'm sure I speak on behalf of the entire club as we wish Cayley the very best from the bottom of our hearts in this exciting and new stage of life.
Larry - announced that Chinese construction firm has made a bid to buy Aecon for 1.5bln- pretty good deal pending no government intervention. Larry has also been instrumental in finalizing a 40 Bed Treatment facility in Deerhurst area.
Dr. Tom - received a $50 donation for roses as his neighbour couldn't figure out how to use the website -John Jonas you aren't alone !!
Jim-attended Kidsability opening at their new location on Lang's Drive - drop in sometime great new facility
Erica- enjoyed the Chamber trip to Vietnam and Cambodia - prior to NYC  - the Fearless Girl Statue was honoured which embraces the increased women in wealth management.

Announcements and Upcoming Events
1/ Jim McPherson reminded us of the 3 Club Christmas Party on Dec. 7th. It's $60 / person unless you think you are Santa Claus. It is up stairs at EVO. Rosanne was here pretending to be John J. She wondered about accessibility but apparently there is an elevator or drone to get you up there.
2/Jim M. made us aware of the Great Rotary Booze sale of Preston-Hespeler. Sign up sheet was at the circulated-The proceeds of this ' open bottle' sale go in to the Oktoberfest proceeds.

Program
Speaker cancelled so thank you very much to Jim, Noah and Gary for stepping in and giving us some great information regarding our finances, the Rotary Beer and the city's task force.
Gary first reassured us that his head is not stuck behind him despite some comments which have been flying around Facebook . Information was provided on the outcomes of the city's task force with fentanyl crisis in our community - the city is going beyond their scope to ensure that awareness /education is everywhere and available to everyone.  It is a global concern hitting so many communities and there is absolutely no demographic delineation.  It is as much a concern in Waterloo as it is in Cambridge as much in young people, business people and tied to mental health. There is room for community to participate as the task force has created a sub committee - if you would like to participate let Gary know.  Gary painted a picture on just how complex the crisis and how lethal a very small small dose of fentanyl is and what to look out for.  Definitely something we all need to work together on as a community to make a change.
Noah did a great review of the financials - for those that were not at the meeting please give Noah a call if you have any questions.
Highlights -
Our fundraising is over $100k - we can congratulate ourselves.
former Member Audrey Bendus passed away and provided the foundation with a donation
Our foundation contributes $10k annually to our charitable fund to pay out to the community
Noah also explained a few items that were questioned last week.
Jim then took back the mic - I think he really likes that microphone....and presented another fundraiser the Guelph clubs are spearheading. We can participate in a Rotary Beer fundraiser - receiving proceeds from each beer sold - whether at our club or from the LCBO- sounds like a great idea.
Jim thanked our fabulous speakers and adjounred the meeting a few minutes early.
