Helping out our two ' Speaker Seekers' . Coming up with a good speaker every week is no easy task.
Program
Heidi introduced Roslyn and Glen from The Coping Centre.

They were appreciative of the help from the club in Gardening at the Coping Centre.  Especially appreciated Paul Mc's dedication in bleeding for the cause.  The clean up enables them to run programs outside

The pandemic has presented challenges in running programs to support people through their grief.  They have managed to be creative and still offered their support programs.  They did all they could given the circumstances, including giving roses for grieving widows that were provided by Larissa.

Christmas remembrance, which normally includes upwards of 600 in attendance was supported through having almost 350 people come "in shifts" and have the gatherings outside

They are hoping to launch programs as soon as they are allowed and looking at things on a month to month basis

The pandemic is creating another Mental Health pandemic with grief and isolation.  The Coping Center is working with young hockey players to help equip them for the future with their mental wellness.

The fund raising the club has done as allowed the Coping Centre to fund several initiatives:
  1. Helping to ensure people are not isolated through funding counselling  and books.
  2. Venture Camp for kids from 10 - 17
  3. Pop-up tent for outside groups.  (the tent is 10 by 20, so maybe "pop-up tent" is the wrong adjective)
  4. 5 new canoes
  5. Program costs support
  6. Fixing the wall on the property

Ivana thanked them

meeting ended at 1:26
