Stories
Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
Jim McPherson chaired the meeting.
The 4 way test and Invocation where performed and then we had a minute of silence for former Rotarian Hadra Wilson who has passed away.

SAA: We had 17 Rotarians present and visiting Rotarian Bob Bedford. Bob brought guests Jake Pries and Jacob Boychuk. Other guests: Matt Lantz guest of Paul T. Aiden Brokenshire guest and grandson of Larry. Jen Van San was a guest of Clayton.
50-50 Draw

Steve Brand was our Raffle Miester. Paul T Cody had an unsuccessful first try but Jeff Hunter won the ACE. Jen Van San won the bag. Not sure what the bag was but hope she enjoys it.
Good News
Larry Brokenshire was proud to have his grandson as a guest. Aiden is in second year university at McGill.
Also Larry is going on an Alaska Cruise. Probably going up the inside passage. Watch out for big ice cubes and big brown furry animals.

Paul T and I seemed to have good news but there was no time.

Jokester
Paul M was here but did not tell a joke. But I always get a chuckle just from him being here.

Announcements and Upcoming Events
We need another bulletin editor. ( the job is not too onerous and it is a good way to know what is going on in our club. I recommend good hearing)

Oct 4th is another Eucrefest. See or email Marcia

Next week we meet off site  at Community Living 160 Hespeler Road.  Dr Tom used to be physician to several of the clients there and in the group homes. Some of the clients are a hoot.

We had a bunch of women's golf shirts at the back of the room today. This was from cleaning out a Rotary storage unit. They are free and can be unisex.

Paul T Cody said Sept 9th is the Camb. North Rotary Club Golf Tour. It is a lot of fun. It is the day after our best bites.

Todd spoke of the upcoming Rotary Roses Campaign. ( Todd said the low turnout today is because we knew he was going to speak. Todd, you are not that important. But you are probably right.)
We have a new rose supplier. They sell for  $30 a dozen. They are delivered the Tuesday to Friday before Thanksgiving.  We all need to sell and not sit back on our haunches and let a few people do all the selling. Todd and Katie suggest we could each sell 20 dozen. Then our club will be in the pink ( red, white, yellow etc). You can complete sales on line or paper slips will be provided by Katie . Here is your chance to surprise that special person (s).

Program

Rena, Todd  and  Dr Kim did a dry run for their ' Don't Meth with Us' presentation to Grade 5 students.
Methamphetamine is a horrible drug and one use can lead to addiction. Nine out of ten addicts will relapse. It is heartbreaking for other family members to go through this ordeal.
Using the four way test can help make good choices.
Dr Kim showed us some horrible slides of the physical changes in Meth addicts.
Jen and Paul T. did a great skit showing all the toxic chemicals that go in to Meth making.
" We are the future, Don't Meth with us".

Thanks Rena et al. See y'all next week at 160 Hespeler Road.
