Senior Advisor Larry B introduced Lousis Kaiser who is the project leader for Aecon doing the ION  LRT.

ION name was approved in 2011.  Stage 1  is Bus from Cambridge to KW. LRT from KW to Waterloo.  This is to be done by 2017.  Stage 2 would be Cambridge to KW LRT.  GrandLinq is the company that is doing this which is majority owned by Aecon.  ION project is really a massive utility project with a train on top of it.  ION wil travel every 10 -15 minutes from Fairview Mall to Conestoga Mall.  (Think of the malls as a place to park rather than a destination.)  There wil be 19 KM of track laid. 56 km off pipe laid and 76 Km of fibre optic laid.
In theory when this is done  we could take ION to Go Train and link up to Pearson  Airport and then the rest of the TTC  in Toronto.

Brian Waddell thanked her for speaking to us and Pres Cayley gave the official thanks.
