Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
President Heidi started the meeting at 12:38.  Paul McMenemy read the 4 way test.  President Heidi did the toast.  Rena was SA and we had 17 rotarions and eventually our guest speaker Sandhya Maini.
Toddler was in and out so I wasn't sure if he was there at the start.
50-50 Draw

None today....  Johny J. says the pot has been invested to collect interest until we figure out if we can keep it going remotely...

Good News
-Rena told us she was 46.  Her goal was 300 socks for Trinity  and we got 600.  Amazing since she did nothing to motivate us.  I saw on the news yesterday that the WLU mens Rugby team raised I think 30 grand  or so. Players in order to raise money shaved their head anmd some' died their hair pink all for a good cause.  Just imagine!!!
Rena also dropped off some of our Bingo money to Trinity/

Linda Breault  drove over her phone this morning. .  If you haven't heard from her by Christmas you should probably  email her as she has lost your contact information.   Also 2 days left to out bid yourself  ( Todd suggestion.)

President Heid suggested down loading the rotary club runner app.  ( rotary has an app!!!... who new?  I am obviously dating myself here.

Noah wanted to give out a shout out to Past President Chad.    Chads company did a marvelous job getting internet working for their new office.

Announcements and Upcoming Events
-
Roger announced that we donated 3500 to a project in Guatemala for a new hospital.  we did this with many other clubs.  With district grants and other money totaled 780000. This will be a teaching hospital so instead of one doctor  they will have 5 or 6 interns.  This will be a major bonus for their community
Randy announced that he got a letter thanking us from astudent frpm Preston High thanking us for a scholarship. this student is attending Conestoga college.
December 9 is virtual dinner with Langs. . We have 11 volunteers for evening.   Heidi will send out zoom link for dinner. If you can help that evening delivering meals to cars or driving meals for those handicapped. let Rena know.
Linda Breault will nead 20 or so volunteers DEC 11  and 12 for wind up of auction.
At some point Todd during the announcements he decided to join us again.

Club Job Openings
-  Past President Larry B and Jeff H really need assistance speaker seeking - let's give them a hand!

The template that I am using for this bulletin  doesn't have one for  Jokes so I thought I would insert this here to see if any one reads.  He told one before the meeting and one during.  Both involved his mother.    PG and  10 stars rated.   You should have been there.

Its ok Paul we will come visit you in the home even though you won't remember!!
Program
President Heidi introduced our guest speaker Sandhya Maini.  She will be our District governor in year 22-23.  I am sure she does a lot for the district but one of the things she helps clubs with is developing a strategic plan.

We all know how Paul Harris started Rotary.   He wasn't sure that anyone would want to be Rotary President for 4 years.  So the term was set for one year. ( can you imagine WHJAT A BAD PRESIDENT COULD DO TO OUR CLUB IN 4 YEARS.)
I think I heard that at president elect training that they tell you can't wreck a club in one year.)  I digress.

Anyway the flaw with having a president for one year is a lack of continuity. That is why you should have a strategic plan.

Plans should be for 4 or 5 years and be what you want the club to be  in 4 or 5 years. With a proper vision each incoming president can follow along the plan.

Sandhya is willing to work with our club.  we need a cross section of members to participate. It is not one and done but always a work in progress.  I think it takes 4 hours and it he past was done on a weekend.

VRPM

Starts with Vision
Then Relationships
Projects
Then Management.

Larry thanked Sandhya for speaking to us.  President Heidi believes our club is stronger.  For example 600 socks and a great auction.

Editors note here.  I chose not to speak to day as my emotions are still raw.  My mother passed today this morning at 12 15 am.
At 101 I can say she had a good life .I have been blessed with a mother for longer than most get to have.   Covid makes funerals a challenge.  The family will celebrate what her 102 which would have been Oct 24 2021.  Hopefully covid will be smaller then.
Thank you for listening
Matt
( I am OK)
