Opening and Sgt at Arms Report

We have and have always had the BEST Rotary club in town- and perhaps district....if I can be so bold!
After 28 years of being a Rotarian there are so many great experiences, memories and amazing people that you meet
Nice to see so many guests out, and many faces we have not seen in a while. Some were sporting good healthy colour from their travels to sunny destinations.
Jim Johnson was SAA extraordinaire for the first ROTARY AFTER Hours meeting
50-50 Draw

Johnny Smooth was getting everyone excited about the 50/50 pot that is getting larger and larger - attendance should be huge at this weeks meeting - $1300+ to the lucky winner.

Good News
Good news - the amount of members and guests in attendance. Great to see so many faces we haven't in some time - hoping Zoom meetings will have much less attended for the forseeeable future.

Program
President Elect Todd was the speaker and chaired the first Rotary After Hours meeting. What a great day and nice to see many of those people that cannot make it for lunch.
The meeting started the best way any Rotary club meeting could start - awarding two greatly deserved Paul Harris Fellows.  PE Todd presented our Past President Heidi with one.
Who could have imagined running the club with such strong leadership and innovation as Heidi did throughout the challenges with Covid.  We had great meetings, despite some of the technology hiccups - we had some creative and fun games - with many members engaged on screen. From the start of becoming a Rotarian Heidi has done so much for our club, she has been club Secretary for years.Well deserved- and thanks to both for their dedication and commitment.
President Rajbir awarded Roseanne and John Jonas aka - Johnny Smooth as well with two Paul Harris for his commitment in so many areas of our club -Fundraising, fellowship, Gala committee, golf committee so many areas and our amazing 50/50 dedicated volunteer- NOT to mention a sizeable donation to the Rotary International Foundation.
RI Foundation Donation - every dollar donated is invested for three years which covers administrative expenses -thus 100% of your dollar is invested in RI Initiatives.-the Seven distinct areas. RI Foundation has been awarded the highest award for being a very well run low cost Foundation- for many years.
Paul touched on the great work we did with the Foodbank as well as his area of focus membership. We have such a great club - please bring out members - imagine the work we could do with a bigger team!
Paul T. touched on the social and engagement aspect - it is much more rewarding when you get involved rather than just attending lunches.
PE Todd continued with an overview of of the various Rotary areas of service and directors responsible for those areas. Great review for those newer members and also longer /older members - a nice reminder.
PE Todd also reminded us all that we are volunteers working together as a great group and sometimes we don't do everything perfectly but bottom line - we are all doing our best and our volunteer experience - unique to us all - should be very rewarding. The experience is different for everyone but we have fun, we do great work and we get to meet amazing people along the way.

If you would like more information on getting more involved or have some ideas please speak to director associated with your area of interest.
