Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
President Rajbir welcomed us all. Katie recited the 4 Way Test.
SAA report by Jim Johnson. We had 4 Zoomers, and 14 live Rotarians. We had 2 guests, Kathleen Schupp and Vince Deciccio. Both are in the lawyer business and rumor has it that they are nibbling at the membership bait.

50-50 Draw

Johnny on the spot officiated. $630.00 in the pot. There were no winners today. So save up your cash and buy a ticket. There has to be a winner and the cards are few.

Good News
Katie is proud to announce that they have bought their very own moving truck. And what a beauty! A 2016 International with 26 feet of room.
John Jonas had some good news but I did not write it down. But I did get that he has summer sausage, pepperoni and bacon in the fridge for sale. Drop in to Mennonite Furniture to check it out.
Tom S. and Janet are heading to Whitehorse for 3 weeks to see the family. Can't get enough of that cold and snow.
Rajbir is taking a trip to Mexico, some holiday and some Rotary work.

Joke
Sorry folks, no joke today.

Announcements and Upcoming Events
Paul McMenemy reminded us to be polite when we have a guest speaking.  There should be no chatter while the guest is speaking and phones should be put away and put on vibrate or off. The fine will be a bottle of wine for a phone ring or some one texting under the table.

Tom E. reminded us of the Club Bonspiel in a couple of weeks. It should be fun and there are still some openings.

Ivana said Adele has declined to be our MC for the Crystal Gala as she is working. But she will make a guest appearance at 7:30 pm.

Program
Raj explained what a ' Club Assembly' was. Board Members talk about their area of responsibility and we get to ask questions.
Here is the lineup:

Rena is chair of Community Services. This area shows the Community who we are and builds a connection to the club. It gives us a chance to feel involved in our community. We have many projects in this area: Socks for the homeless, Gardening at the Coping Centre, Langs Xmas dinner and helping fund the Mobile food Market. We have given to Cambridge Counselling and also support Kids Camp and the Child Witness Symposium.
Rena would like a committee. A committee member would be responsible for one of the programmes.
Presently there are some funds available for a small community project, possibly to do with the environment.

Erica is chair of our own Charitable Foundation. (Not Rotary International Foundation)
This foundation was started in 1967. It is invested and Erica uses her financial expertise to manage the fund.
It comes from a number of sources: bequests, donations, good news, 10% of the funds we raise. It includes restricted funds from donations.
Remember you can donate before you die and get a tax credit!
Money has gone to Kids Ability and our hospital.

Randy is our Vocational Chair. We give a number of bursaries to high schools and Conestoga College. Academic and Vocational scholarships are given to deserving High School students at their graduation.
You can help Randy out by being one of the presenters at a high school grad.
Camp Enterprise, a business symposium for High School students held up at the University of Waterloo has been cancelled due to Covid. Hopefully this will start up again. It is the cooperative effort of eleven Rotary Clubs.

Anne Marie B. is our Rotary International Foundation Chair.

Sukhi Gill is our chair of International Services. He is out of the country and Raj spoke on his behalf. Present Projects are in Malawi ( clean water), Mexico (Covid and Maternal Health), India ( outreach to fund hospitals and labs). As mentioned earlier, Raj will be travelling to Mexico to meet with clubs that are involved in projects.

Our Fundraising Chair is Ivana. As you know we have several fundraising projects on the go: bingo, Rotary Roses, Superhero Challenge, Best Bites ( on hold with Covid), Veterans Golf Tournament ( Randy and Paul M. are chairs). Next up is the Crystal Drop Gala to support clean water for our Indigenous Communities.

Tom Everett is our hard working treasurer. He does weekly cash deposits and keeps the fundraisers abreast of their expenses. Monthly he does a financial summary at the board meeting. Yearly he sees to our budget, tackles the membership dues and provides tax receipts for charitable donations. Hope I got that right.
Heidi is our Club Secretary. She says Hi!
Brian Waddell is our social media Guru. Thanks to him we have a website, twitter , facebook  and all the trimmings.  Also you see him working hard at meetings to facilitate the speaker and zoom connections.
Larry Brokenshire and Jim Johnson are our speaker seekers. Let them know if you have a speaker in mind.
Paul T. Cody reminded us that we are having a real live Presidents Ball in June. We welcome the new pres. and there is a board change over at that time.

Wow. That's it. I probably missed some info and I apologize.
Kudos to our board. They put in lots of hard work as you can see. They deserve our support.

Also please come to a Rotary Meeting. Don't be a stranger!
See y'all in 3 weeks.
