Announcements and Upcoming Events
Save the date for Prez ball at Whistlebear June 15 2018. $65.00 for non members and  free for members.

Tom Everett announced 14 teams at our bonspiel and we didn't lose money!     Tom thanked the club for the tremendous support.  This was a great accomplishment considering it came together so quickly.

Florence announced that our application for a Rotary grant is ready!
Speaker
Jeff Hunter who is also a board member of Langs introduced  the Executive Director of Langs Bill Davidson.    Bill has been Executive Director of Langs  since 1985 where he started at the age of 5.  Bill also attended Rotary Group Study Exchange in 2002 as a 17 year old  when Larry B was the group leader.   ( I don't know how old Larry  B is or was as his birthdays are often confusing.)
Langs apparently started in 1978 which makes it 40 this year.  As a club we have visited Langs at lunch several times.  Bill has   invited us back for a tour  and a game of pickle  ball.( we might have to reserve the court though)

For those that don't know, Langs services approximately 15000 people a year.  These services range from prenatal to lonely seniors( Dennis B) looking for a place to walk on a track and make new friends. This concept of having  so many services in one building is the  anonymity.  Clients could be there to walk the track , counseling, drug rehab , Alzheimer’s  counseling  or back pain as there are Physicians and Chiropractors on site.  Langs is looking to expand  with 8200 square feet and additional parking.  !7 new agencies have applied but in all likelihood 7 new agencies will move in to the new premises.

They also opened  separate premises in Ayr just for  our new  member Todd. and his family.

Linda B gave the club official thanks.
