Disclaimer:  some of the content to follow is fake news.

President Paul presided today.  Chad did the invocation and Neil gave us the 4-way test

SAA was Joe. We had 23 members present, 1 visiting Rotarian (Diane from Belize) and 3 guests; Nelia Andrade and Sue Locket from CMH Foundation, and Cathy, a guest of somebody.

Health and Good Cheer
John had his knee operated on and said it's painful.  The bad news: the drugs are encouraging him to sing.
50-50 Draw
Pedro ran the show with about $1200 up for grabs.  Visiting Rotarian Diane drew the first ticket.  Two losers: Joe and Felicia.
Good News
Evan - After a long period of uncertainty, his sister has been positively diagnosed with Wilson's Disease requiring a liver transplant.  The news itself isn't great but it's a relief to have certainty and know what to do about it.
Jim M - His mom is moving back to Ontario from Kelowna to look after his kids.  Nobody asked him how much he had to pay her
Jokester Paul
Paul was MIA today.

Program
To start today's program Sue and Nelia from Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation presented the club with our portion of the proceeds from Best Bites 2016.  Although the giant cheque was unsigned, it had the figure $20,187 on it.
For the main program, Sandy introduced Leslee Urquhart for her Who am I presentation.
Leslee was born in Ottawa and has two sisters (both teachers, as Leslee was for most of here career) and one brother, a lawyer.  They all have great genes.  Although Leslee's mom passed away recently, her dad is still alive at 90 and using the eliptical machine every day.  Leslee clearly loves her family a lot and expressed her love for her mom several times through her presentation.
When she was very young the family moved to Campbellford and then to Waterloo Region, which she thinks is a great place to live (we know).  Here are a few of the high points that I managed to get onto paper.
  • Educated at U of T and Niagara College.
  • One daughter, Roslyn, is 16 and attends Galt Collegiate French Immersion.
  • Leslee's boyfried is Paul.  They have been together for 3 years and get along with each others kids.
  • Her dog Teddie is black and cute.
  • Leslee taught science for 27 years in GTA and Waterloo Region schools. In Toronto she lived on Toronto Island which I think would be amazing!
  • Retired from teaching two years ago and opened a business called A Perfect Day, organizing weddings at any of three venues. You can pick France, a barn in Ayr, or downtown Galt. Some members in attendance expressed a preference for France.
President Paul said the Rotary Meeting of April 20th will be off site at KidsAbility in Waterloo.
