Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
Prez Paul opened the meeting.  Alicia gave the 4 way test and Nicole gave the invocation.  There were 17 members and 3 guests - Speaker Tara Chen,  Stephen Whetmore (guest of Jim J) and Nicole Pereria.
50-50 Draw
50/50 Draw was hosted by Matt.  Ticketholders Mark and Graham lost out on the draw but Mark came away with a really good referral for a hearing centre. You kinda had to be there ......
Good News
Cayley won the 50/50 Draw at Monday's Golf Tournament and had a fabulous time playing with her Sisters in Swing.
Mike's daughter, Lauren, received a Citizen's Citation last Monday from the Waterloo Regional Police for saving someone's life a few months ago. What a very proud moment for both Mike and Karen!
Prez Paul noted the great success of our Golf Tournament this week and was happy to report he was up til 2am celebrating. Apparently he was well Ping'd that day, both on and off the course (you had to be there, or at least on facebook).

Health and Good Cheer
No news this week.
Jokester Paul
Joe Gowling attempted to tell a joke about 2 eggs boiling in water. One was cracked. The other got hard ... and then it all kinda got scrambled. I think we all concluded Joe isn't egg-ceptionally good at yolk-telling. Full points for effort though, Joe!

Program
Cathy Gosse introduced speaker Tara Chen.
Tara and became involved with Rotary Camp Enterprise back in 2011 while attending St Benedict's Catholic Secondary School and the wheels were set in motion for her to travel further afield in order to pursue her academic and career aspirations. Tara originally went to Western University to study Business but her passion for the Health Sciences prevailed. As a result, she took part in a Taiwan Tech Trek Internship and moved to Taipei where she became involved in conducting a health literacy study.
This experience ignited a passion to work in International Health. As a result, Tara became involved in an International Youth Internship Program with Global Affairs Canada that brought her to  Kingston, Jamaica to work in the field of HIV/AIDs.  During the 7 months there, Tara became well acquainted with term "Boom Boom" (you had to be there but you'll probably hear about it over a lunch)!
Tara graduated last year at Western University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and has just been accepted to the Erasmus Mundus Program for a Masters of Public Health. Her first year will be in the United Kingdom and her second year will be in Poland. This young lady has a true passion and enthusiasm that is contagious! Sandy thanked our speaker.
