Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
Prez Jim McPherson opened the meeting. He is not needed for jury duty.
Today's meeting got off on a slightly shakey footing as we could not find the key to open the door of the lectern.....so no cards, no tickets and no projector. But we persevered.
The Invocation was given and the 4 way test was read.
Tom was SAA. 17 Rotarians were present and 3 guests: Honourary Member Todd Lyons, Dean Barracha guest of Noah and Ron Schippling, guest of Larry.
Health and Good Cheer and membership minute
No Health and Good Cheer.

Tony Johal did a membership minute:  He joined in 2012. He has known Paul T Cody for a long time. Tony is a real estate broker with his office on Victoria St. in Kitchener. He joined Rotary to meet people and do something positive for the community.
He has to kids. The youngest, a boy is very active.
His partner is Heidi and they have known each other since 2004

50-50 Draw
No tickets, No cards, No Draw.
Good News
Linda B. noted a good turn out at her New Year's Levy last weekend. She thanked everyone for coming.
Larry Brokenshire had some good news about Heidi. She has been a regular volunteer at the Prison for Women in Kitchener. She has done this for 4 years. She used Larry as a reference and got a tour of Attica prison in New York State. It is a tough place with all male inmates. She is being oriented to do some volunteering there.
Prez Jim said he is glad to be here and not doing Jury Duty.
Jokester
Paul was here and I am very sure he had a joke. But he did not tell it. Maybe trying to pick the lock on the lectern was fun enough.
Announcements and Upcoming Events
The Three Rotary Clubs of Cambridge will be doing tree planting on Earth Day this year. We'll be doing our part to fight Global Warming.
Linda said we had a thank you from Janet McElvey who is involved in helping out people in Sri Lanka. We gave $500 to her organization which has done rebuilding after a sunami and also established a university scholarship programme.
She also had a message from Paul T Cody who I suspect is curling. He is organizing a ski weekend for our club at Collingwood on Feb 23rd. The cottages he is considering can hold about 20 people. Cost is $140/p for two nights accomodation.
It's first come, first serve. Do etransfer to sold@paultcody.com and use password  chalet  . State how many beds you need and if you are single or a couple or a groupie.

Jim said we got a thank you note from Liska. We sent some flowers after her surgery. She is recouperation but not ready to come to meetings.

Program
Tony Johal introduced our very own Noah. As the official head purser of our club he gave a rousing and in depth dissertation on our Charitable Foundation. ( not to be confused with our Charitable Fund). Our Charitable Foundation turns  50 this year.
Noah had a power point presentation but alas the projector was locked away . He will email his presentation to members of the club. Probably a good thing as I would just confuse the issue. Wanna know what an internally restricted Endowment fund is? Read the email.

Jim Johnson said there would be a Fireside Event at Quarry House in Riverwalk on Tuesday Feb 27th. Firesides are always a lot of fun and good for the Newbies to find what we are about. That's after the ski weekend so Rotarians in plaster will be welcomed.

Also noted, lower attendance today due to the Curling Bonspiel.
