Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
President Paul opened the meeting today.  Evan did the 4-way test and  Chad recited an invocation he had written himself.
Sandra was SAA.  We had 19 members present and 4 guests (Danielle Ratford, Michael Irwin, Alicia and Leslie).
50-50
Katie drew a ticket, somebody lost.  The pot continues to build.
Health and Good Cheer
Jeff Hunter, one of our newest members and scheduled speaker, was sick today.
It looks like Katie may follow in the footsteps of former member Peter Emary by bringing her daughter to Rotary meetings.
George wasn't around, so no other news.
Good News
It was one of those days.  No good news.  Pres Paul moved quickly through the proceedings before anyone could think something up.
Jokester Paul
Paul was not present today so the meeting was a sombre affair.

Announcements
No announcements either.  I think we're just a bit burned out after Sept/Oct fundraising.
Program
Our fundraising chair, Linda facilitated a club discussion on fundraising ideas.  We're considering adding a winter fundraiser, sometime between Oktoberfest (early Oct) and the Rotary Run (late May).  Some of the ideas that came up:
  • Winter Carnival
  • Online Auction
  • Playoff Hockey Pool
  • Showcasing tiny homes on Coronation Street
  • Calendar Raffle (daily prize draw for a month)
  • Mini-golf Tourney
  • Charity Casino Night
  • Euchre Tourney
  • Bowling for $$
  • Axe-Throwing at "Battleground" in Kitchener
  • A TED Talks Speak-Easy
  • Meat Sales
I'm assuming Linda is going to try making some sense out of this and get back to us.  Proponents of these ideas should be ready to explain them in more depth (how exactly they would work, what members would need to do, input costs, revenue opportunity).
If you have any other ideas, email Linda.
