Chris W recited the 4 way test and Paul M did the invocation.

Jim M informed us that we had 20 rotarians  and 15 guests. Despite the traditionally low summer member turnout the room was full.  That's 3 guests for every 4 rotarians.  A 0.75 guest to member ratio.

Bob Bedford, a guest himself, brought five more guests: Shannon Miller, Sarah Hunt, Jake Boychuk, Scott Hamilton, and Randy Saad

I had two guests: Brian Wilson, Chris Omiecinski

Sorry folks I missed the details.  Johnny J was cavorting around as usual and nobody won the pot.

Karen and I went to Giorgio Feletto's wedding in Italy and biked around northern Italy.  Good fun.  If you know Giorgio, I have pictures of the wedding and his family.

Bob B introduced his five guests and handed out two coffee mugs to deserving club members.

   Paul M opted out today.  He's keeping his powder dry for next week.

 

Roger introduced our speakers today, Sarah Jackson and Violet Umanetz , who work for Region of Waterloo on their harm reduction strategy (related to drug addiction and homelessness).  They spoke specifically about a one-year pilot program called WINS (Working to Improve Neighborhood Safety).  Peers within the affected population were hired to clean up needles and help others access support resources.  If you were not at the meeting, the best way to understand the program and its results is to watch the short video linked here.  The video gives an important perspective.  Highly recommended.
